Buma ROCKS! presents Ulsect at FortaRock In The City, announces first matchmakers

Buma ROCKS!, the international conference and showcase festival for loud music, is affiliated to FortaRock In The City, the metal festival in venue Doornroosje, Nijmegen, on Saturday 27 May. Ticket sales for FortaRock In The City including Buma ROCKS! have started at www.doornroosje.nl.

Ulsect complete the line-up of Dutch bands at FortaRock in the City on May 27th Ulsect from Tilburg were selected from a total of 145 acts who applied for a gig during the indoor metal festival in Doornroosje in Nijmegen. Earlier on the selection of DOOL and Pelgrim was announced. Together with The Charm The Fury these bands make up the varied heavy package presented by Buma ROCKS! at FortaRock In The City. Ulsect have emerged from the homely Dutch city of Tilburg and the circle of musicians that has spawned such acts as blackened extremists Dodecahedron and rhythmic progressives Textures. The death metal innovators feature guitarist Joris Bonis and drummer Jasper Barendregt from Dodecahedron as well as former Textures bassist Dennis Aarts. It therefore hardly comes as a surprise that elements of their origins have permeated into Ulsect's self-titled debut album, to be released in May 2017. You will find high technical precision and prowess woven into dense dissonance and lucent atmosphere.

Matchmaking sessions with Inferno Festival, Incendia Management and other international guests Buma ROCKS! invites a number of international heavy music business professionals to FortaRock In The City to check out the Dutch bands playing and meet them in matchmaking sessions to share some of their wisdom and exchange ideas. The first names to be confirmed are Jan-Martin Jensen, who is co-owner and booker at Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo, Norway. Inferno is one of the leading festivals for extreme metal music in Europe. The festival is organized during Easter, runs for four days and stages around 45 bands. Jan-Martin also promotes and books shows all year through his company Radar Booking. Music manager, publicist, and owner of Incendia Music in England, Lulu Davis has pioneered and pushed forward the careers of new and exciting talent in the rock and metal world for the past 6 years. Long-listed in Music Week's 30 under 30, the only female panelist at Global Rock Summit 2016 and managing bands who are touring with the likes of Deftones, playing Download Festival and more, Lulu and Incendia Music are showing the way forward for emerging talent worldwide. After his participation in last year's Heavy Track panel, Gunnar Sauermann will give the bands at Buma ROCKS! his dead-honest opinion for a second time. Gunnar has studied iron age and early medieval archaeology as well as comparative linguistics in Marburg, Germany and took a degree in Celtic Studies in Dublin, Ireland. For more than sixteen years, he has been a freelance writer mainly for the German edition of Metal Hammer as well as others – and continues to do so. More matchmakers to be announced!
