Four Bruins played in the English Premier Jimmy Frazelle Los Angeles 5th/50 League in 2007-08 - Friedel (Blackburn), Bocanegra (Fulham), Lewis (Derby County) and Benny Feilhaber Ryan Futagaki Chicago 6th/54 (Derby County). Friedel became the fi rst American player picked for the 2002 English Premier League 2004 Matt Taylor Kansas City 1st/4 team of the year when he was voted the top goalkeeper by his peers. Several others played in Europe Leonard Griffi n Chicago 2nd/11 before returning to the U.S. to play in MLS. Paul Caligiuri, the fi rst American-born player ever to play in Adolfo Gregorio Colorado 2nd/15 the top-fl ight division in Germany, fi rst played abroad with SV Meppen and also played with St. Pauli in Zach Wells NY/NJ 3rd/21 the German Bundesliga. Hejduk also played in the German Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, and Jones Ty Maurin Dallas 3rd/29 (Coventry City), Joe-Max Moore (Everton) and Adolfo Gregorio (Darlington) enjoyed stints in England. 2005 Chad Barrett Chicago 1st/3 Mike Enfi eld Los Angeles 2nd/15 Westwood has become the German pipeline recently, with three Bruins heading to the German Bundes- Aaron Lopez Chivas 3rd/26 liga in the last fi ve years - Feilhaber to Hamburg SV in 2005, Kamani Hill to VfL Wolfsburg in 2006 and 2006 Marvell Wynne New York 1st/1 Sal Zizzo to Hannover 96 in 2007.
