We structure our classes in five-week terms and let you choose how much you want to get involved. Learning happens everywhere . It takes place on a research vessel in the Gulf of Mexico as easily as it can in a class- room. Our courses are varied in their content and their structure so that everyone can become a lifelong learner. A committee selects our curriculum on the basis of member requests, the expertise of facilitators, variety and balance. Facilitators include USM professors, community professionals and members who lead informal lecture and discussion courses or seminars. Five-Week Classes meet one or two times a week during the term. Seminars meet once, sometimes twice, in a term for two hours each. Joining OLLI is easy! You’ll find a membership form on Page 15 or stop by the office in Hattiesburg or Gulf Park and we’ll provide you with one. From there you can sign up for as many classes as you would like and learn about the many other groups within OLLI that you might find interesting. OLLI at The University of Southern Mississippi is a cooperative venture . We rely on the contributions and participation of each member to be a successful organization. Members contribute by teaching courses or seminars, acting as class hosts, serving as officers or committee chairs on the board of advisors or con- tributing financially above and beyond membership fees. Get involved and continue the OLLI legacy!
