General Michael Hayden | Principal of The Chertoff Group and Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency

As Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, General Hayden was responsible for overseeing the collection of information concerning the plans, intentions and capabilities of America’s adversaries; producing timely analysis for decision makers; and conducting covert operations to thwart terrorists and other enemies of the US. At Chertoff Group, General Hayden uses his broad geographic and political knowledge to brief clients on intelligence matters worldwide – including developments in cyber security – that may affect their businesses.

“The best defense is knowing what your enemies are up to, before they know you know it. For today’s CEOs,” he adds, “there is also the challenge of figuring out who and where your enemies are.”

Before becoming Director of the CIA, General Hayden served as the country’s first Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence and was the highest-ranking intelligence officer in the armed forces. Earlier, he served as Commander of the Air Intelligence Agency, Director of the Joint Command and Control Warfare Center, Director of the National Security Agency and Chief of the Central Security Service. General Hayden graduated from Duquesne University with a bachelor’s degree in history in 1967 and a master’s degree in modern American history in 1969. He also did postgraduate work at the Defense Intelligence School conducted by the Defense Intelligence Agency. He is currently a Distinguished Visiting Professor at George Mason University.

Joe Hudson | President, Nabors USA

Joe Hudson is currently head of Nabors’ U.S. land and operations. In this capacity, he directs a fleet of over 300 land rigs marketed in all major oil and gas basins in the continental U.S. and nearly 30 offshore rigs in the U.S. . Joe came to Nabors as head of Marketing and Contracts for the U.S. business when Nabors acquired Henley Drilling. Soon thereafter, he was appointed Vice President of Marketing and Contracts for Nabors’ international business. He later returned to the U.S. operations, where he held positions as Vice President and General Manager of the Southwest Division and Executive Vice President before moving into his current position. Joe began his career with Otis Engineering and held various marketing and contracts positions at Tuboscope, Parker Drilling, ATCO Drilling and Henley Drilling.

Joe graduated from the University of North with a degree in Business Administration. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Center for Hearing & Speech and the Board of Trustees with Spindletop Charities.

James J. “Jim” Kleckner | EVP, International & Deepwater Operations, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation

James J. “Jim” Kleckner is Executive Vice President, International and Deepwater Operations for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Mr. Kleckner has more than 30 years of global technical and leadership experience. He began his career in the oil and natural gas industry with Sun Oil Company and has responsibility throughout the world, including management roles in the North Sea, South America, , U.S. onshore and Gulf of Mexico. Prior to being promoted to his current position in May of 2013, Mr. Kleckner served as Vice President overseeing the company’s operations and development activities in the Rocky Mountain region.

Mr. Kleckner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in from the School of Mines. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. In the past he has also served on the Industry Advisory Board for the Colorado School of Mines Petroleum Engineering Department and as a Board Member at the University Of Wyoming School Of Energy Resources, the Executive Board for the Colorado Oil and Gas Association, and the Executive Board for Western Energy Alliance and the Global Energy Management Board.

Merrill A. “Pete” Miller, Jr. | Executive Chairman, DistributionNOW and Director, Transocean and Chesapeake

Mr. Miller is the Executive Chairman of DistributionNOW. Prior to assuming this role; he served as President and CEO of National Oilwell Varco from 2001 to 2014 and Chairman of the Board from 2002 to 2014. Mr. Miller joined National Oilwell in February 1996. Mr. Miller’s work history includes broad experience in the oil service and drilling contractor industries including 15 years at Helmerich & Payne, where he held various positions culminating as Vice President, US Operations. Mr. Miller graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point and earned his MBA degree from Harvard Business School. He serves on the Board of Directors for Corporation and Transocean, Board Member of the Offshore Energy Center, Advisory Board Member of Spindletop International and member of the National Petroleum Council. John Mingé | Chairman and President, BP America

John Mingé is the Chairman and President of BP America Inc., where he is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to BP’s U. S. businesses, which are involved in oil and gas exploration and production, refining, chemicals, supply and trading, pipeline operations, shipping, and alternative energy. Prior to this role, John was the Regional President of BP Exploration () Inc., where he was responsible for BP’s oil and gas exploration, development and production activities in Alaska, as well as its interests in the trans-Alaska oil pipeline.

During his 32 year career with BP, John has held various executive and engineering posts around the globe. He has served as President of BP Indonesia, Head of BP’s Asia Pacific Unit, and President of exploration and production for Vietnam and China. For the past six years, he has served on the BP America Board of Directors. John started his BP career in the Gulf of Mexico as a drilling engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University. John is a member of the API Board and Executive Committee, a member of the National Petroleum Council, and a Director of the National Association of Manufacturers. John is also heavily involved in his alma-mater, WSU, where he serves on the Board of Governors and on the College of Engineering and Architecture Executive Leadership Board.

He is married to Jackie and has two children, David and Emma.

Jeff Shellebarger | President, Chevron North America Exploration and Production

Mr. Jeff Shellebarger has been the President of Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company at since August 1, 2013. Mr. Shellebarger served as the Managing Director of IndoAsia Business Unit at Chevron Corporation until August 1, 2013. Mr. Shellebarger was responsible for overseeing Chevron’s exploration and production activities throughout North America, including its significant portfolio of assets in California, the Gulf of Mexico, Pennsylvania, the Mid-Continent region of the US and Canada. Since joining Chevron in 1980, he has held a variety of upstream positions in the US, Angola and Indonesia.

David L. Stover | President and CEO, Noble Energy

David (Dave) Stover brings more than 35 years of oil and gas industry experience to his current role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Noble Energy - a member of the S&P 500 and one of the nation’s leading independent energy companies. He was appointed CEO in October 2014 and elected to Noble Energy’s board of directors in April 2014. Prior to his current role, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer, along with other executive positions since joining the company in 2002. Before joining Noble Energy, he was BP’s Vice President and Business Unit Leader for the Gulf of Mexico Shelf from 2000 - 2002. From 1994 - 2000, Dave held various onshore and offshore management positions at Vastar Resources. Earlier in his career, he held a number of engineering, operations and management positions at ARCO Oil and Gas Company. Active in industry and community organizations, Dave serves on the board and executive committee of Junior Achievement in Houston and is President of Spindletop International for 2015. He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from Pennsylvania State University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

James J. Volker | Chairman, President and CEO, Whiting Petroleum Corporation

James J. Volker is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Whiting Petroleum Corporation. Mr. Volker has been a director of Whiting Petroleum Corporation since 2003 and a director of Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation since 2002. Mr. Volker joined Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation in August 1983 as Vice President of Corporate Development and served in that position through April 1993. In May 1993, he became a contract consultant to Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation and served in that capacity until August 2000, at which time he became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Volker was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation in January 2002. Mr. Volker was co-founder, Vice President and later President of Energy Management Corporation from 1971 through 1982. He has more than 40 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry. Mr. Volker has a degree in finance from the University of , an MBA from the University of Colorado and has completed H. K. VanPoolen and Associates course of study in reservoir engineering. Alex Epstein | Author, “The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels”

Alex Epstein, energy expert and author of the national bestseller The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels, is the president and founder of the Center for Industrial Progress (CIP), a for-profit think tank championing fossil fuels.

In a culture where fossil fuels are often condemned as “dirty”, Epstein argues that they are actually the life-giving energy of our modern world – and therefore should be celebrated, not demonized.

A philosopher by training, Epstein challenges many of our era’s popular notions about energy, industry, and environ- ment, routinely engaging environmentalists in open debate over the big picture benefits of fossil fuels. His work has garnered both heavy praise from supporters and fierce opposition from adversaries.

Epstein’s writings on energy have been published in , Forbes, and Investor’s Business Daily, among hundreds of other publications. A highly sought-after speaker, he has spoken on the economic and envi- ronmental benefits of fossil fuels at dozens of universities, including Stanford, Duke, Rice, and UCLA. He has also defended fossil fuel energy in debates against , 350.org, and the Sierra Club. Alex’s think tank, CIP, regu- larly consults with industry in and outside of America, where his keynote appearances and company strategy sessions have inspired and galvanized industry professionals, from high-level executives to workers in the field.

Galen Cobb | VP – Industry Relations, Halliburton

Galen Cobb is vice president industry relations for Halliburton and is responsible for the company’s industry relations global activities. He has worked for Halliburton for over thirty-nine years serving in various executive management positions in operations, marketing, sales and business development.

From 1991 to 1994, he was Director CIS and China with oversight in establishing Halliburton’s presence and operations in these emerging markets. Later he was named Director Executive Sales and Business Development with expanded responsibilities for the worldwide development and promotion of Halliburton’s services and products. In his current position, Mr. Cobb has broad responsibilities that include managing the company’s industry relations, energy trade policy issues, executive client relations, and trade organization oversight.

Cobb serves in leadership positions on numerous industry trade association and civic boards including: Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association Past Chairman and Executive Board, Independent Producers of America Association, Board of Trustees, National Ocean Industries Association Board of Directors, Academy of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology Board Chairman, Spindletop International Board of Trustees, Greater Houston Conventions and Visitors Bureau Executive Board, Industry Sector Advisory Committee to the US Department of Commerce, World Energy Cities Partnership Board, and Chairman of the USA National Committee for the World Petroleum Congress. Additionally Cobb serves on the company boards of TxIS and DistributionNow.

Julissa Enriquez | Petroleum Academy Student, Milby High School, Sherry Stephens Scholarship Recipient

During her sophomore year at Milby High School, Julissa Enriquez joined the IPAA/PESA Petroleum Academy at Milby High School. Participating in various Academy activities, including field trips, the IPAA/PESA Speaking Competition, PetroChallenge, and an IPAA/PESA Externship at Halliburton, Julissa is a model for her peers. Through hard work and dedication, Julissa will graduate from Milby high school as the 2015 valedictorian. David Bat is President, Stream-Flo U.S.A. He has worked in the oil and gas industry, both in the U.S. and globally, for over 27 years. David’s experience includes executive sales and operations roles with industry leaders that include the Constellation Energy Group and Chevron. Most recently, David was President of Welling & Company, an influential research firm serving the worldwide . David is respected throughout the industry for his knowledge and depth and breadth of experience.

Kurt Abraham, Executive Editor of World Oil Offshore Panel Moderator | 8:45 AM, April 24, 2015

Kurt Abraham is Executive Editor of World Oil. He is responsible for day-to-day management of content, heading up forecasting, and developing new products. Kurt has 30 years of industry experience. He earned a BA degree in journalism and business administration from Texas A&M University. His experience includes all four major media, as well as a major trade association. He is a member of NOMADS, the IPAA Supply and Demand Committee, and Offshore Energy Center, and he serves as an expert commentator.

Gary Halverson was named President, Drilling & Production Systems in October 2013. In October 2012, he was named Sr. Vice President of Cameron International. Most recently he held the position of President of Surface Systems since October, 2005.

Gary joined Cameron in 1978 and has held numerous management positions throughout his career in the U.S. and overseas. He served as Director of Sales and Marketing for Asia Pacific Middle East based in Singapore, General Manager of Latin America, Vice President and General Manager for the Western Hemisphere based in Houston.

Gary is a graduate of Odessa College. He serves as Vice Chairman on the executive committee of the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association (PESA), also on the board of the general committee of special programs (GCSP), American Petroleum Institute (API), Well Control Institute (WCI) and U.S. delegate to the World Petroleum Congress (WPC).
