Klahoose Wilderness Resort Getting Here Location The Klahoose Wilderness Resort is located oceanside in the lush coastal rainforest of the British Columbia coast. Surrounded by the calm waters of Desolation Sound and the rugged Coast Mountain range the Resort is only accessible by water or air. Fly here with a 45 minute seaplane charter from Vancouver, take the 35 minute flight to Powell River or drive to Lund and meet our 45 minutes boat ride from Lund. By Boat The Resort boat transfer from Lund Harbour is scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays between May and October. The boat transfer from Lund Harbour to the Resort, takes about 45 minutes and is scheduled to depart at about 3:00 pm on Thursdays and Sundays. By Air Located deep within the heart of the remote Desolation Sound biosphere, Klahoose Wilderness Resort is remarkably accessible. Several flight options are available and can be booked through the Klahoose reservation team. Prescheduled flights with Pacific Coastal Airlines departs from Vancouver International (YVR) South Terminal to Powell River Airport (YPW) and only takes 35 minutes, followed by our pre- arranged road transfer (1 hour) to the charming coastal town of Lund. Upon arrival to Lund Harbour guests are greeted by their local host and take a scenic 45 minutes covered boat transfer into Desolation Sound and Klahoose Wilderness Resort. Powell River Airport to Lund Harbour Transfer Schedule: Note: Schedules are based on Pacific Coastal Airlines schedule and are subject to change. Arrivals (Thursdays & Sundays) 11:05 AM Powell River Airport to Lund Departures (Sundays & Thursdays) 12:00 PM Lund to Powell River Airport Private pre-schedule seaplane charters are available from Vancouver, Whistler, and Seattle directly to the Resort. Shorter charter flights can be arranged from Vancouver Island, Tofino or Campbell River. Seaplane Flights from Vancouver International (YVR) South Terminal direct to Klahoose Wilderness Resort's dock take about 1 hour. By Land The drive from Vancouver to Lund, lo located on the northern end of the Sunshine Coast is considered one of the most spectacular car journeys in North America. The route includes two ferry crossings with plenty of additional sightseeing options along the way. The total journey time is typically 5-6 hours with several picturesque villages en route. The 40-minute crossing from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale captures the magnificent scenery of Howe Sound and the B.C. Lower Mainland. A beautiful 90-minute drive from Langdale can include detours to the coastal village of Gibson and ends in Earls Cove where the Saltery Bay Ferry conveys passengers for 50 minutes across still more sublime scenery. The final one-hour drive to Lund passes through historic and now booming coastal town of Powell River. On Vancouver Island, BC Ferries regularly depart Comox for a 1 hour 20 minutes crossing to Powell River. Lund is about 45 minutes from historic town of Powell River. By Sea It is also possible to access Klahoose Wilderness Resort by private sailboat or scheduled expedition cruise ship excursion.
