2015-05-05 14:17 CEST Byrne cancels talk on CLICK Festival – he is replaced by Detroit’s techno collective UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE, Danish CTM, English HOCKEYSMITH, DARKMATTERS and an extensive line-up from DIEM in Aarhus. Caused by time pressure, David Byrne unfortunately had to cancel the announced talk and installation on CLICK Festival 2015 and thereby delay his involvement in the festival until 2016. Instead, the festival has succeeded in landing the legendary techno collective Underground Resistance, along with Danish CTM and English Hockeysmith. “We are so sad that Byrne had to delay his visit but we look forward to see what the cooperation will bring in 2016. On the other hand, we have succeeded in getting Mad Mike Banks and the team from Underground Resistance to the line- up, which we consider quite the scoop this late – it is a legendary name within the electronic scene”, says Festival Manager Georg Rasmussen. Underground Resistance is one of the most influential electronic collectives in the history of techno. Several of the biggest names in this genre, like Robert Hood and Jeff Mills, has been born out of this group. Their musical aesthetics and uncompromising sound was, from the very beginning, inspired by the tough social environment that dominated large parts of USA in the 80’s. A situation, which is not far from the situation at present. The collective see themselves as a political and reactionary unit who communicates their messages through music. Underground Resistance is a live act. New material from Cæcilie Trier Mørch (CTM) Besides Underground Resistance, we also have the pleasure of putting Danish CTM aka Cæcilie Trier Mørch on the schedule and she will be presenting new material live on CLICK Festival. The upcoming English sisters Hockeysmith, whose musical expression mixes postpunk, acid house and dreaming pop is also a new addition to the line-up. Last, but not least DIEM (Danish Institute for Electronic Music) will present a long list of new Danish composers on the relaxing scene where all the guests can lie down and listen. Click Live – an extreme 24 hours await On Saturday May 16, at 12 noon and one day forward, you can experience a sensational storm of music, performances and exhibitions merged into a unique, scenic universe in the shipyard halls. The audience can experiment an international musical line-up CLICK ’24 Noon till Noon’ ranges widely and offers performance, art of sound, miniature raves, installations, experiments and extraordinary concert events. Sunday morning we present a morning-dub with some of Denmark’s biggest sound systems and the legendary Lee Scratch Perry and Mad Professor. ”To perform 24-hours in a row might seem a bit extreme and that is exactly the point. We have tried to work on an understated dramaturgy in the planning. That way we will start on the heavy side and split the event into different possibilities, as we get into the night and through to the morning”, Georg Rasmussen says. CLICK Live is a new contribution to the festival that challenges the traditional dimensions of festivals. The content is curated by a large co-operation of Danish and foreign curators, which reflects the program presenting artists and musicians from all over the world. The line-up is wide and offers the British Brian Williams – the man behind the cult band Lustmord – all the way to the Spanish techno group Esplendor Geometrico. The experimenting French musician and performer Jean-Louis Costes and the German duo Ke/Hil is amongst the artists, musicians and performances you can experience from Saturday till Sunday, noon – noon. The 24-hour event at CLICK Performance is presented by CLICK Festival in collaboration with Dark Matters, who helps designed the visual landscape that triggers your senses. Dark Matters helps CLICK Festival control the gigantic pixelated LED-screens that takes the audience on a 24-hour nonstop journey over infinite fields, through microscopic cosmos and across constructions of impossible multi-dimensions.
