2020 ENDED IN WITH ITS MAGNIFICENT FINAL

Millions of people came together with passion and excitement and witnessed the "National Technology Move" at TEKNOFEST, the world's largest Aerospace and Technology Festival, which was visited by 550 thousand people in its first year and 1 million 720 thousand people in its second year. TEKNOFEST, which is organized with the support and devoted efforts of the leading organizations of our country, carried the "National Technology Move" torch burning in to Gaziantep with 63 stakeholders this year.

TEKNOFEST, the world's largest Aerospace and Technology Festival which was being held in the southern Gaziantep province ended after days full of pride, passion and excitement. The four- day festival, jointly organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3) and the Republic of Ministry of Industry and Technology, was held in the veteran city Gaziantep with the support of Turkey's leading technology companies, public institutions, media organizations and universities. The festival, which is organized with certain restrictions and closed to visitors due to the pandemic, was followed with interest by millions of people from their screens and digital platforms. The festival which carries the torch burning with the fire of #NationalTechnologyMove to the highest for “a Turkey that produces technology” with the technology competitions that have critical importance for our country was a scene for special moments including technology competitions, airshows, award ceremonies, Deneyap Card Launch, Deneyap Technology Workshops Openings and the visit of President Erdoğan.

The Largest Awarded Technology Competitions in the History of Turkey

Rocket, Electric Vehicle, Robotaxi Full-Scale Autonomous Vehicle, Model Satellite, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competitions were held in different regions of Turkey between the dates 1st September to 20th September 2020. Agricultural Technologies, Biotechnology Innovation, University Students Research Project, Smart Transportation, Environment and Energy Technologies, Educational Technologies, Helicopter Design, Technology for Humanity, Jet Engine Design, Uav Swarm Simulation and Flying Car Design Competitions were held at the Middle East Exhibition Center in Gaziantep. Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition held in Gaziantep Olympic Pool and Turkey Drone Championship held in Rumkale were a scene for exciting moments. Also International Inventions Fair (ISIF), Hack Zeugma and Turkish Natural Language Processing competitions were held online. Unlike other years, teams were presented with "Best Presentation", "Most Original Design", "Best Team Spirit" awards. A total of 149 teams, including teams from 100 universities, 28 high schools, 9 secondary schools, 10 Science and Art Centers, 1 Science Center, and 1 Deneyap Technology Workshop received their awards.

Turkey's qualified youth ranging from elementary school to middle school, high school, undergraduate, graduate and alumni competed in 21 different categories in order to make their dreams come true at TEKNOFEST which aims at increasing Turkey’s human resource in the areas of science and . 20,197 teams and 100,000 young people from 81 provinces and 84 countries applied to the competitions. 5000 finalists competed in the exciting competitions. After months of preparation and jury evaluations, the winning teams were awarded more than 3 million TL in total. The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Attended TEKNOFEST

On the third day of Festival, the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended TEKNOFEST. Mr. Erdoğan gave a motivational speech at the award ceremony and said: “Our ancestors, who have put their lives on for the sake of making this land our homeland for a thousand year, have made so many sacrifices for your success today and in the future. With this understanding, I ask each of you to embrace your education, your work and your future. We will continue to stand by you with the strong infrastructure we have established, the support we provide, the opportunities we provide, and platforms such as TEKNOFEST. We are determined to support you. We will address the shortcomings, correct mistakes, meet needs and remove all obstacles as long as you do not stop struggling, striving and working hard to make your dreams come true.”

Deneyap Technology Workshops are Everywhere from Hakkari to

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan cut the ribbon on the Deneyap Technology Workshops in 30 provinces by connecting online from the Middle East Exhibition Center. The opening of the Deneyap Technology Workshops in , , , Edirne, Eskişehir, , Hakkari, İzmir, , , Muğla, , Adıyaman, , , Ağrı, Çanakkale, Çorum, Elazığ, Gaziantep, , Kahramanmaraş, , , , Sakarya, , Şanlıurfa, and was held with applause. 100 Deneyap Technology Workshops Project within the scope of the First 100 Days Performance Program of the Turkish Presidency, will bring the young together with science and technology. For this purpose, an important cooperation between Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Youth and Sports, TUBITAK and Turkish Technology Team Foundation has been set up.

Local and National "DENEYAP Card" Developed for Technology Enthusiasts

Deneyap Card Camera and Card Set which are the collaborative work of Turkish Technology Team and its entrepreneurs were introduced at TEKNOFEST by the chairman of the board of Turkish Technology Team Foundation Haluk Bayraktar. Deneyap Card has been developed by using national engineering resources. It enables to develop projects in the technological fields of autonomous vehicles, smart cities, agriculture, health, logistics, energy, industry etc. which will carry the society to a digital era. The Deneyap Card Camera and Card Set, which have been developed to transfer the infrastructure of the issues related to Electronic Programming and the Internet of Things and to run certain artificial intelligence algorithms, offers the opportunity to develop projects for anyone interested in technology at the secondary school level and above. TEKNOFEST Left Its Enthusiasm to the Hearts and its Permanent Traces to Gaziantep

TEKNOFEST aiming at increasing Turkey’s qualified human resource in the science and engineering left its permanent traces in the host city Gaziantep. TEKNOFEST, which carries its energy, experience and knowledge everywhere it goes, established 5 workshops: 2 workshops in cooperation with Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, 1 workshop in cooperation with Şehitkamil District Municipality, and 2 Deneyap technology workshops in cooperation with Şahinbey District Municipality. With the newly established workshops, 6 different workshops with a total student capacity of 960 have been established in Gaziantep. Within the scope of TEKNOFEST Permanent Traces Commission studies, under "Science Turkey", science workshops were established in the total of 3 centers. Design, Technology, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Astronomy, Aviation & Space workshops were established in Şehitkamil and GOAP. In addition to these, a total of 7 workshops were established in the center in Şahinbey including Entrepreneurship and Agriculture Workshops.

Turkish Stars Draw Moon, Star and Heart of TEKNOFEST on Gaziantep Skies

The spectacular show flights of the 's aerobatic team, our national pride, Turkish Stars and Solo Turk, were watched with great admiration. The 6-kilometer-high, 15-kilometer- wide moon and star drawn by Turkish stars on the skies of Gaziantep were highly appreciated. The heart drawn by the Turkish Stars on the Gaziantep Castle during the opening of the festival carried TEKNOFEST's heart to the sky. While the Atak Helicopters’ show was watched with applause, enthusiasm, excitement and adrenaline continued throughout the festival.

Drone Championship was Held in the Unique Beauty of Rumkale

Drone Championship organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2020 Gaziantep took place in Rumkale which is a world heritage with the historical and natural beauty of Gaziantep. This year, 16 individual athletes from 10 different cities participated in the drone championship which have been followed with great interest for three years. The Drone Competition which took place in the magnificent atmosphere of Rumkale took breath away again.

Selçuk Bayraktar Proudly Saw TEKNOFEST off

The Board of Trustees Chairman of Turkish Technology Team Foundation and The Board Chairman of TEKNOFEST Selçuk Bayraktar made his closing speech together with the young on the stage. He said ‘‘We would like to thank young people, everyone who feels the excitement of TEKNOFEST in their heart, who devotes their hearts and who makes their efforts. We would like to thank our nation, who made TEKNOFEST, TEKNOFEST for their support and interest, and Gaziantep for its nice hosting. See you in Istanbul in 2021."

TEKNOFEST 2020 was organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3) and the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology and with the support of 63 stakeholders including 7 ministries, 4 presidencies, 26 institutions 16 universities and 10 media stakeholders.

TEKNOFEST 2020 was held with the support of leading technology companies in Turkey, public institutions, media organizations and universities.
