About Myrtle Avenue Myrtle Avenue is one of the primary commercial corridors for the neighborhoods of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, . Our district has over 160 local businesses and was recently said to have “everything you need in a single stroll” by The New York Times. Along our district of twenty blocks we have a total of 40 public tree benches making Myrtle Avenue a vibrant pedestrian environment where anywhere from 300-500 people pass per hour. Over 136,800 residents reside within 1-mile of the center of our district.

The Avenue is also the primary commercial corridor for the , home to Steiner Studios, with over 300 tenants including 23 film studios, 10 television studios, commercial studios and 74 production companies. There are over 6,400 employees.

Institutions, Parks, Colleges & Universities The following institutions and parks are within close proximity to our district: Pratt St. Joseph’s College (over 25,000 annual visitors) NYU Poly is located at the end of the entrance to our corridor.

Traffic Myrtle Avenue is one of the major East/West arteries in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. Average daily volume on the Avenue itself ranges from 12,000 to 16,000 motor vehicles per day. Myrtle Avenue is also intersected by busy streets such as Navy Street, , Washington Avenue, and Classon Avenue. Nearly 100,000 vehicles per day pass by on the Brooklyn Expressway, which is one block north. Metered parking covers all of the commercial portions of Myrtle Avenue and the corridor is served directly by the bus and crossed by the and B48. Nearly 4,000 riders board the B54 within the district each day, with 4,400 riders disembarking. Myrtle Avenue is intersected by major North/South bike lanes on Navy Street and Vanderbilt Avenue.
