    PRESS INFORM ATION BP-Ford debuts new Focus RS World Rally Car in Finland Warwick (UK), 19th of July 2007 - Reigning FIA World Rally champion BP-Ford will strengthen its challenge for the 2007 manufacturers' and drivers' titles when the latest specification Focus RS World Rally Car makes its debut in Finland next month. The Focus RS WRC 07 features improvements in several key areas and will be piloted by Marcus Grönholm and Timo Rautiainen and team-mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen on all eight remaining rounds of the 2007 championship. Four victories on the opening eight rounds of the series have enabled BP-Ford World Rally Team to build a 28-point lead in the manufacturers' series in the quest to retain its 2006 title. Grönholm is nine points clear in the drivers' standings. The new car is an evolution of the hugely successful 2006 version with development principally concentrating on the engine, bodyshell and weight saving. The work has been led by Christian Loriaux, the team's innovative technical director based at M-Sport – the British- based company which handles the day-to-day operations of the team in partnership with Ford. The car has been tested by both drivers in Italy, Spain and Finland in advance of its debut on Rally Finland (2 - 5 August), round nine of the 2007 championship. "The opening half of the season has been successful for us," said Jost Capito, director of Ford TeamRS and responsible for the Blue Oval's European motorsport programmes. "The 2006 car won 12 of the 25 rallies it started, which is a remarkable strike rate, and one that we would like to emulate with the new car during the second part of the season.

    The Loudon-clear guide to… Rally Sweden Hello. So, snow. Except this time the story’s about the snow’s Swedish no- snow. It’s a huge shame that the recent warm weather has conspired to take the edge off what has to be one of the biggest sporting spectacles of the season: World Rally Cars dancing on ice. The World Rally Championship is full of stop-you-in-your-tracks moments and the sight of a World Rally Car on the lock-stops – front corner nibbling a snowbank at the apex while the opposite corner leans on a wall and fires powder 15 feet in the air – is right up there. Right up there. But it’s not to be this time. The warm weather has forced a complete rethink of the route and even blizzard conditions for the rest of the week wouldn’t be enough to deliver the perfect winter rally. Recipe for perfect winter roads: heavy (like heavy, heavy) snow, semi-melt, deep-freeze, light snow shower. The semi-melt puts moisture into the road and snow base which, when frozen hard, provides a rock-solid ice base for the studded tyres to dig into. The freeze will also pack the snowbanks really hard, allowing the guys to go a gear higher through some corners. We’re missing a couple of elements of that recipe this week! This week will be about staying out of trouble and keeping as many studs in place as possible. That in itself provides an intriguing event, however. Let’s see who can drive smart as well as super-quick in these compromised and challenging conditions.

Fiat aporta el 7% restante y su licencia de fabricación. Comienzan las obras de la fábrica en la Zona Franca de Barcelona. 1951 Se instala maquinaria, así como la primera línea de montaje, soldadura, pintura, etc. en una superficie de 20 hectáreas de la Zona Franca. SEAT fomenta la industria auxiliar, apenas existente, para limitar las importaciones. 1953 El 5 de junio se inaugura la fábrica. El 13 de noviembre sale de las cadenas de montaje el primer coche SEAT: un 1400, matrícula B-87.223. Producción diaria: 5 coches. Plantilla: 925 personas. 1954 SEAT logra que su fabricación sea española en un 93%. Producción: 2.983 coches. Plantilla: 1.700 personas. 1955 El 5 de mayo se inaugura oficialmente la fábrica, cuya superficie es de casi 200.000 m2. La producción sobrepasa los 7.000 coches. 1956 Se contratan 1.000 trabajadores y se ponen en marcha nuevas secciones fabriles. Se alcanza el objetivo de producir 10.000 coches/año, con un promedio de 42 unidades/día. 1957 El 27 de junio comienza la fabricación del 600 y con él se inicia en España la etapa de la motorización masiva. Plantilla: 5.000 personas. 1958 El 600 multiplica su producción por seis. 1959 Se firma el primer Convenio Colectivo de la Compañía.
