Tues Ship Model Society: Sail at Millhouses Pond (Yachts, Fast Electric boats and Scale Models) 1st Millhouses Park Pond Start 9.00am Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, usually from about 9am and we tend to finish once the paddle boats start coming on. During the year we will be having yacht racing on occasional Thursday mornings. All are welcome to bring a boat down (it is a public pond)

Sat Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust: Volunteer work day on Blacka Moor 5th Blacka Moor is on the A625 out of Sheffield a few hundred yards on the left before Fox House. 10am – 3pm Practical volunteer days at Blacka Moor are held on the first Saturday and third Thursday every month. Tasks vary from footpath improvements and access work, to habitat and vegetation management. Gloves, tools, and refreshments are provided, but wear suitable outdoor clothes and boots, and bring some lunch and drinking water if you're able to come for the whole day. Wed Friends of Bishop’s House: ‘Decorative Plasterwork and Carved Woodwork in Bishop House’ 9th Bishop’s House, Norton Lees Lane 7.30pm This talk by David Bostwick will examine the decorative plasterwork and carved woodwork in Bishops House and explore how it relates to that in other houses in Sheffield and North-east Derbyshire area during the 17th century. It was all being done by a group of craftsmen living in Norton and Greenhill. Free, but please arrive early to be sure of a place.

Sun Seed Swap 13th Heeley City Farm 12noon – 4.00pm Pack up your seeds and come along to swap them with other gardeners keen to grow their own vegetables, fruits and herbs. If you don’t have any seeds to swap don’t worry as there will be a great selection available on the day, including many varieties conserved by Heeley City Farm local food growers. You will also be able to pick up tips on successful growing from experienced gardeners, including guidance on how to save your own seeds, and information about local community food growing projects. Hot drinks and food will be available at the Farm Kitchen. The event is free yet we would welcome donations.

Tues Friends of the Porter Valley: Work Morning 22nd Meeting place at Endcliffe Park café 10.00am – 12noon Special task on a regular work morning: laying hoggin to improve the path to the Amigo Monument in readiness for the annual February ceremony to commemorate the great wartime sacrifice made here. Refreshments at the Cafe around midday or later depending on progress. Wear stout footwear and clothing to suit the weather. Tools and wheelbarrows provided by Parks Dept. It looks like 50 hoggin loads to barrow and spread in order to even out the rough surface. There may well be lighter tasks like gardening and litterpicking available too. Beauchief Environment Group The Monday Working Group meets every Monday morning at 9.30 am to undertake a large variety of tasks. They usually meet at Beauchief Abbey Barns. Everyone is welcome, so if you are interested in joining this regular session please telephone 0114 236 9876 for details of the work planned on the following Monday.

Friends of Ecclesall Woods The Footpath and Restoration Group work with the Council’s Parks & Countryside Service to make improvement throughout the Woods. The group meets every Tuesday at 9.30am at the J.G. Graves Woodland Discovery Centre, where we have a tool store. Volunteers will have access to a good supply of hand tools and undertake a variety of different tasks. The group is usually between 10-14 people and we welcome new people who share our interest in caring for Ecclesall Woods.

Sheffield Music Academy The SMA is dedicated to the education and encouragement of outstanding young musicians.They hold lunchtime concerts each Saturday in term time from 1.15pm – 2.00pm in Heeley Hall at Birkdale School. These events are free.
