En 2013, la contribution publique à la dépense sportive atteignait 18,2 Md€ soit près de 48 % du total de cette dernière (38,1 Md€)2. Cette contribution est très majoritairement portée par le bloc communal3 (12,1 Md€), les dépenses de l’État (4,8 Md€) consistant essentiellement dans la prise en charge par le ministère de l’Éducation nationale des coûts de l’éducation physique et sportive dans les enseignements primaire et secondaire. La contribution cumulée des régions et des départements s’établit, quant à elle, à 1,3 Md€. Ce poids prépondérant des collectivités territoriales dans la dépense sportive est directement corrélé à la question de la propriété des équipements sportifs.

È il 7 marzo 2021 la nuova data di avvio delle competizioni FIR di interesse nazionale deliberata dal Consiglio Federale riunitosi il 22 dicembre in video-conferenza per l’ottavo incontro del 2020. L’organo di governo del rugby italiano ha identificato la nuova data, che sostituisce quella originariamente prevista del 24 gennaio, in considerazione del protrarsi dell’emergenza pandemica e nell’intento di garantire la piena tutela e sostenibilità di tutte le componenti del movimento, in coerenza con la linea adottata dal Consiglio sin dalle prime fasi della pandemia da Covid-19 in Italia. L’identificazione della nuova data fa seguito alla pubblicazione della nuova mappatura delle attività rugbistiche di interesse nazionale pubblicata dal CONI a seguito di consultazioni con la FIR. In base a tale mappatura, il Campionato Italiano di Serie A Maschile e Serie A Femminile, la Serie B, la Serie C Girone 1, la Coppa Italia Femminile, il Campionato Italiano U18 Girone 1 e Girone 2 ed il Campionato U16 vanno ad aggiungersi alle competizioni delle Squadre Nazionali e delle Franchigie di Guinness PRO14 ed al Campionato Italiano Peroni TOP 10, la cui stagione 2020/21 è già regolarmente avviata.
