The visit is cross curricular and is aimed at students in years 9 -11 who are studying in the following areas: geography, travel and tourism, history and art. However, students who would like the opportunity to learn about Italy’s history, geography, art and culture are more than welcome to apply for a place.

The visit will provide students with a rich “hands on” learning experience of history, geography, art and architecture which could never be replicated in the classroom. Our students will be able experience life in an ancient Roman town, see the islands of mythical legends, enjoy the regional culture and traditions, travel through diverse and beautiful landscapes including the island of Capri.

Day One From Naples airport to a local trattoria for lunch before visiting Vesuvius where, under supervision of a specialist guide, students will walk up to a viewing area at the crater’s edge. This vantage point will also provide panoramic views across the Bay of Naples towards Capri and Sorrento. In the evening there will be a guided tour of Sorrento’s historic centre.
