More than ever this summer, we are committed to providing youth with a positive environment that prioritizes safety and promotes participants to lead with empathy, build healthy relationships, effectively manage emotions, take responsibility for actions, and develop achieveable goals.

As you review our camp brochure, you will notice a range of in-person day camps offered across Washtenaw County, along with several exciting new camps that bring all of the fun of camp to you to complete at home. We are also offering virtual camp programs that will engage your child in some of their favorite activities from home.

It’s more than just something to do - it’s a way of life! We welcome all who are interested in a nurturing, creative and playful environment for their families.

Ytown Rec strives to offer something for everyone in the family. For the kids we offer youth sports leagues and classes, enrichment programs, art classes, youth dance, and family events. For adults we offer health and fitness classes and a variety of sports leagues. We also have a vibrant 50 & Beyond program for older adults that has options for travel, health, fitness classes and much more. Our facility boasts an arts and crafts room, racquetball and wallyball courts, gymnasium, aerobic and dance studio, meeting rooms, classrooms and a senior center. Stop by our facility sometime - it is a community of opportunity!

SERAFINSKI SCHOLARSHIP Started in honor of former longtime director Art Serafinski, the Serafinski scholarship provides youth recreation opportunities with Ytown Rec each season for those that qualify. The scholarship is for youth 3-17 years old and can be used for most of the recreation’s in-house programs. Families can complete the Scholarship Application online or by stopping by our center.

CAMP AL-GON-QUIAN Are you ready for the full overnight camp experience? Camp Al-Gon-Quian (AGQ) is the Ann Arbor YMCA’s residential summer camp located on Burt Lake in Northern Michigan, a 3.5-hour drive north of the Ann Arbor YMCA. AGQ offers one and two-week sessions for all genders, gender expressions, gender identities, ages 8-16, as well as a Mini Camp, ages 6-9, and Leaders-in-Training programs (entering 10th or 11th grade). Camp Al-Gon-Quian, established in 1925, spans 160 acres and offers dozens of activities including sailing, woodshop, and outdoor education. Campers bunk in semi-rustic cabins with role model counselors who facilitate a transformative camp experience focused on youth development principles.
