  • Britannia Drinking Water Summary Report
2015 Summary Report Britannia Water Purification Plant & Distribution System 1.0 General overview The City of Ottawa provides treatment, storage, and distribution of high quality drinking water to approximately 874,000 residents and industrial water users. The central water supply includes the Britannia and Lemieux Island Water Purification Plants which utilize the Ottawa River for their source water. Treated drinking water from both plants is distributed through a large network of water mains, pumping stations, reservoirs, and elevated tanks including a direct water supply to Russell Township. Outside of the central supply, the City operates (5) well systems that provide drinking water to rural communities located in Carp, Richmond (Kings Park subdivision), Munster, Greely (Shadow Ridge subdivision), and Vars. This report deals specifically with the production and distribution of drinking water from the Britannia Water Purification Plant (WPP). The report must review regulatory requirements, standards and drinking water license requirements as a means of demonstrating compliance with drinking water regulations and the provision of safe drinking water during 2015. The report has been prepared in fulfillment of Schedule 22 of O.Reg.170/03, which requires that a Summary Report be prepared for each water supply system and given to the members of municipal council by March 31 of the following year. The report covers the period from January 1st, 2015 to December 31st, 2015. 2.0 Drinking water regulations The Safe Drinking Water Act (2002)

pg-1-of-15 Barrhaven United Church Summary Joint Needs Assessment Report Barrhaven United Church (BUC) 3013 Jockvale Road, Ottawa, Ontario K2J 4E4 613- 825-1707 www.barrhavenunited.org pg-2-of-15 Executive Summary and Recommendations In response to the retirement of its ministry personnel, Barrhaven United Church (BUC) entered into a process of assessing its ministry, resources, goals and needs. The Joint Needs Assessment Committee (JNAC) gathered data from previous assessments and exploratory discernment, consulted widely with the congregation and staff, and worked with Presbytery on completion of the Needs Assessment process. It was determined that one minister with the assistance of paid accountable Lay people and volunteers be engaged to lead the ministry of the congregation. To this end, the Joint Needs Assessment Committee recommends that the Barrhaven Pastoral Charge request the Ottawa Presbytery to declare a Vacancy and authorize a Joint Search Committee to find one new full-time minister (either Ordained or Diaconal) to lead worship, preside over sacraments, care for the pastorate and reach out to the community. The ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic with multi-disciplinary expertise in Worship, Pastoral Care, Outreach and Christian Education. The candidate will be a preacher who is experienced in crafting dynamic worship services and is comfortable interacting and engaging with all age groups especially youth and young families. In addition, The Joint Needs Assessment Committee recommends that the Barrhaven United Church Council move to establish job descriptions and classifications for Lay staff to be engaged as support to the new minister in the ministries of Adult Christian Education programming, Youth Group, and Sunday School.

Journal on the Art of Record Production » Artist Co-Management for th... http://arpjournal.com/886/artist-co-management-for-the-world-building-a... Issues Content Search About Contact Contribute ISSN: 1754-989 Guy Morrow Issue 5 | Conference Papers | July, 2011 Introduction This article draws an analogy between open-source software development and artist co-management networks, networks that form a platform for the facilitation of artists’ song writing and record production efforts. In the international popular music industry, the online environment is leading to more pressure being placed on artists and managers, rather than record labels, due to the fragmentation of the media landscape and the downsizing of recording labels. This is affecting the way in which song writing and record production are facilitated. In order for artist managers to help their clients to build and maximize their recording careers, the volatile environment that record labels are in means that artist managers must engineer new methods to effectively resource their clients’ album production. As the artist management role becomes even more central it brings extra overheads and responsibilities. An international network of co-managers is a possible solution for increasing management service provision for artists in this context. This is a context in which there is a lot more work for artist managers to do that perhaps requires expertise that artist managers do not necessarily have individually. This will arguably lead to the need for greater scale, particularly when artist managers are dealing internationally in order to assist their client’s song writing and record production efforts. This could lead to artist management becoming corporatized, or to the development of an extensive international co-management network (or both).

OREO BLUE – THIRTY YEARS 1990-Present It is nearly impossible to sum up thirty years of Oreo Blue in one statement. However, one word comes to mind: Perseverance. In 1990, Brian Crowne had a vision to form a relevant blues-rooted band and he had the work ethic to drive the band through a multitude of personnel changes and musical market fluctuations to reach that goal. Hailing from the industrial- manufacturing city of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Brian had been influenced early on by The Blues Brothers following their hit movie in 1980. “I saw the Blues Brothers in the early 80s and the music really intrigued me and I liked the horns in the band,” Crowne says. He quickly took to the saxophone, learning to play, without any musical training. “I had to go back and teach myself how to read music. What I would do is read it and remember it and I had it memorized and faked my way into being in a big band.” Brian teamed up with local Brian Crowne University of Arkansas African- American vocal music major, Billy Rigsby, schoolmate and bassist, Rod Williamson and guitarist friend, Bryan Martin. The mix of black and white players in the band formed a visual for what they believed to be the coming together of African-American blues Rod Williamson rooted music and "blue-eyed" soul music that was being leveraged by white rock and blues bands such as the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and, of course, The Blues Brothers more specifically. The name of the band might have started as a tongue-and-cheek pun on the blended genre, but Oreo (like the cookie...black and white together) and Blue (like the color, but more so, the genre of the Blues) stuck together as Oreo Blue and helped summarize a racial harmony in music celebrating all contributions.
