Making Plans to Leave

Customers must ensure they are aware and comply with entry requirements of their final destinations, including applicable transit restrictions that are in place in , Fiji, , and . It is important that customers check with their respective High Commissions /Embassies in or overseas on the applicable travel restrictions that are in place.

Customers must be aware that boarder and travel requirements can change in response to the changing situation. Currently there are Caps on the number of arrivals into Brisbane and Auckland and currently Air has been allocated a cap of 25 passengers that can be carried into Brisbane and Auckland. This cap excludes those customers who will transit through Brisbane and Auckland.

To assist you with your travel plans we urge you to go onto the IATA Travel Centre website to check what entry requirements apply to you. You will need to have your passport details and travel itinerary with you to enter into the website.

Registering with the Vanuatu Department of Foreign Affairs All foreign nationals and Ni-Vanuatu passport holders wishing to leave Vanuatu must register with the Vanuatu Department of Foreign Affairs in Port Vila.

You will need to provide the following information: • Date you wish to travel • Email address • Mobile contact number • Passport information

The list of those wishing to leave Vanuatu will be submitted to Air Vanuatu five (05) working days prior to your scheduled departure.

Flight Schedule Under the current State of Emergency and boarder closure for Vanuatu, Air Vanuatu is permitted to operate freighter services only. Approval has been granted to allow for the carriage of passengers out of Vanuatu to Brisbane, Auckland, Nadi and Noumea.

Fiji For entry in to Fiji, passengers will need to provide proof of a negative COVID test result within 48 hours prior to arriving and quarantine for 14 days at your own cost in Fiji.

Fiji Nationals wishing to return must register with the Vanuatu Department of Foreign Affairs.

New Caledonia Unless a special Government exemption is provided (ie. Medivac, compassionate cases), New Caledonia is currently not allowing any inbound travelers into the territory. If you do receive an exemption from the Government, you will need to observe the 14 day quarantine in a Government approved and designated location.

Customers wishing to return to New Caledonia must also register their interest with the French Embassy in Port Vila.

The NZ Government now requires those returning back to NZ to pre-book and secure a place in a managed isolation facility. Customers must have a voucher and present this to our Check in Staff in order to be checked in for their flight.

Additional baggage allowance can be pre-purchased via our Sales Office, any unused allowance purchased is non-refundable.

Excess baggage charges will apply for items over the allowance and payment can be made in Vatu at Airport Check in.

Travelling for Medical Reasons If you are travelling for medical reasons, please notify Air Vanuatu after you have registered with the Vanuatu Department of Foreign Affairs. We will provide you with a medical form which you will need to have completed and returned back to Air Vanuatu.

Information for your Departure

Before you Depart Passengers may choose to wear a mask upon departure from Port Vila, however, it must be fitted prior to your arrival at your final destination in Brisbane, Auckland, Noumea and Nadi.

Customers travelling to New Caledonia (Noumea) are required to keep their mask on during their entire journey as well as upon arrival into New Caledonia.

A reminder that Airports Vanuatu currently has in place a COVID-19 safe handling protocol and customers must comply with this whilst inside the Airport.

Your bags should be clearly labelled both inside and outside.

Check In for your Flight Check-in for your flight will open 3 hours prior to the flight departure.

For those customers travelling to New Zealand it is a NZ Government requirement to have a confirmed place at a managed isolation facility and customers must show proof of the voucher issued to them.

Onboard Service during the Flight A hot meal service will be served on flights departing out from Port Vila and a limited selection of non- alcoholic beverage.

The use of onboard lavatories is strictly monitored to avoid unnecessary movements of passengers during the flight.

Customers must follow all crew instructions whilst onboard the aircraft at all times.

Arrival at your Destination Upon arrival at your destination please follow the Ground staff instructions.

Customers with an onward journey should proceed to the transit hall, please contact our Ground staff if you need any assistance.
