Facultade de Bioloxía Campus As Lagoas-Marcosende Universidade de Vigo E-36310 Vigo (Spain) Abstract—Species of Pluteus reported from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain, Portugal) and Balearic Islands (Spain) are listed, with data on their distribution, ecology and phenology. For each taxon a list of all collections examined and a map of its distribution is given. According to our revision 33 taxa of Pluteus occur in the area. Key words—Pluteaceae, biodiversity Introduction Pluteus Fr. is the type genus of the family Pluteaceae Kotl. & Pouzar (Agaricales, Basidiomycota). Its main characteristics are the pluteoid basidiomes (i.e. free lamellae; context of pileus and stipe discontinuous), pink spores and inverse lamellae trama. It comprises about 300 species (Kirk et al. 2001) and is distributed in all continents except Antarctica (Singer 1986). Monographic studies in the genus had been carried out in Europe (Kühner & Romagnesi 1956, Orton 1986, Vellinga 1990) North America (Smith & Stunz 1958, Homola 1972, Banerjee & Sundberg 1995) and South America (Singer 1958, 1961). A worldwide monographic approach was published by Singer (1956). In the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) and Balearic Islands (Spain) the records of Pluteus are often included in general checklists. Prior to our study the only monographic paper on this genus was an article by Muñoz- Sánchez (1991), dealing with species of section Pluteus, mainly based on collections from the Basque Country (northern Spain). Regional studies on Pluteus within the Iberian Peninsula have been published in recent years, as part of the Flora Mycologica Iberica project (Justo & Castro 2004; Justo et al. -

However, the rate of forest loss greatly exceeds the rate of species documentation and this increases the risk of losing macrofungi diversity to extinction. A field study was carried out in Kereita, Kikuyu Escarpment Forest, southern part of Aberdare range forest to determine effect of indigenous forest conversion to plantation forest on diversity of macrofungi. Macrofungi diversity was assessed in a 22 year old Pinus patula (Pine) plantation and a pristine indigenous forest during dry (short rains, December, 2014) and wet (long rains, May, 2015) seasons. -

Hennings and J. Rick during the early 20th century expands current Brazilian knowledge of the genus. Searches of the bibliographical and herbarium records revealed a total of 32 Pluteus names linked to specimens collected in Brazil and studied by Hennings and Rick. Of the ten species represented by Brazilian types, five types could not be located in any of the consulted herbaria and therefore must be treated as nomina dubia. None of previously published collections listed under five other names could be located. All other collections (in BPI, FH, PACA and SP) were studied for morphology. In all cases, European names originally attributed by Hennings and Rick have been found to be misapplied, and re-identifications based especially on species described from the Neotropics are suggested. Yang [email protected], [email protected] Key Laboratory of Biodiversity and Biogeography, Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Kunming 650204, Yunnan, China Abstract—A critical restudy of the holotype of Chamaeota dextrinoidespora, and the holotype and paratypes of Chamaeota sinica showed that they belong to Leucoagaricus/ Leucocoprinus clade in the Agaricaceae and should be placed in the genus Leucoagaricus. Thus, two new combinations, Leucoagaricus dextrinoidesporus, and L. sinicus, are made. Both species are redescribed and illustrated in detail. Key words—Pluteaceae, Basidiomycota, taxonomy Introduction The genus Chamaeota (W.G. Sm.) Earle, typified by C. xanthogramma (Ces.) Earle, is classified in the family Pluteaceae Kotl. & Pouzar because of pink and non-dextrinoid basidiospores without a germ pore, free lamellae, a convergent lamellar trama and presence of annulus (Singer 1986). Recent study showed that C. mammillata (Longyear) Murrill is an annulate Pluteus Fr., and Chamaeota may be rendered obsolete (Minnis et al. 2006). During a study of collections of Agaricaceae from China, the author found that it is necessary to restudy the types of C. dextrinoidespora and C. sinica, and the additional materials cited by the authors (Bi & Li 1988, Ying 1995) because these two species might be lepiotaceous fungi. Reexamination of the collections revealed, surprisingly, that (with one exception) they are representatives of Leucoagaricus/Leucocoprinus clade in the Agaricaceae, and should best be placed in the genus Leucoagaricus in accordance with the recent taxonomy of this group of fungi. -

New records of the annulate Pluteus were made by the authors in Central Russia (Zhigulevsky Nature Reserve) and Western Siberia (Yugansky Nature Reserve). The description of the species based on these records is presented. The taxonomic value of such features as the presence of velum and the color of lamellae edge as well as the similarity between Chamaeota and Pluteus are discussed and the new combination Pluteus fenzlii is proposed.
