WORLD ORGANIC FORUM Localizing SDGs AKADEMIE Creating a Network of Sustainable 16.-18.3.2021 ONLINE TAGUNG Development Goal Regions Project 1: Regional organics in the supermarket Heidenheim, Germany For many people who only shop in supermarkets, there is still no easy access to regional SDGs to project: organic products. The Organic Model Region would therefore like to improve the regional organic assortment in food retailing. As a pilot project, two Heidenheim supermarkets are starting an Organic Model Region shelf, where a variety of regional organic products can be easily accessed. Through targeted information, customers there can also learn more about the region‘s businesses directly.

WORLD ORGANIC FORUM Localizing SDGs AKADEMIE Creating a Network of Sustainable 16.-18.3.2021 ONLINE TAGUNG Development Goal Regions Project 2: Conservation of old breeds of farm animals Heidenheim, Germany In order to jointly develop a sustainable and regional agriculture that goes hand in hand SDGs to project: with nature conservation, the consumer must be brought on board. With activities such as farm festivals, lectures, regional fairs or campaigns against food waste, the organic model region wants to contribute to making people aware of the interrelationships in agricul- ture. For example, the IG Bauernhof erleben, an initiative of regional women farmers, brings school classes to farms. The Green Classroom in the Brenzpark in Heidenheim of- fers extracurricular educational opportunities for environmental education.

WORLD ORGANIC FORUM Localizing SDGs AKADEMIE Creating a Network of Sustainable 16.-18.3.2021 ONLINE TAGUNG Development Goal Regions Project 3: More regional organic food on plates Heidenheim, Germany In order to strengthen understanding of the origin of food, more organic food from the SDGs to project: region is to be put on people‘s plates - in schools, businesses or restaurants. Initially, talks and workshops will be held to inform key players about the topic. More and more organic regional products are being used in catering services offered by public institutions. Pilot projects are to be developed in selected institutions and the experience gained is to be transferred to other institutions in the district.
