As a community focused Cultural Trust one of our main priorities is the provision of arts, sport and creative activities for children and young people. Engaging with young people and acting on the feedback we receive is central to the delivery of customer centred activities for young people. Investing in facilities to attract young people continues: from Letter from the Director the purpose-built Shokk Youth Gyms to the Heywood Sports Village (which opens later in 2010). We are working to ensure that this new cultural facility in Heywood will be as enthusiastically received as the Middleton Arena, which continues to receive an overwhelmingly positive response from customers, local residents, partners, staff and media. The award winning arts and heritage centre Touchstones Rochdale is an exciting learning environment engaging children’s natural curiosity and stimulating their creativity. Our workshops offer creative and memorable experiences through a variety of media, making connections right across the curriculum. Choose from our exciting range of hands-on sessions which this year boast brand new workshops to help your school achieve ‘Healthy Schools Status’, ‘Eco Schools Award’ and the ‘Arts Mark Award’.
