Telenor Foundation selects projects to impact society in

This autumn Telenor Foundation in Montenegro made an open call for projects to be executed across the country, aiming to empower youth and make a safer digital society. Three initiatives are now selected to receive support from the Foundation.

Managing Board of Telenor Foundation selected projects that are complementary with the ambition of empowering local communities by bringing Internet for all. The projects are going to be executed across Montenegro and represent examples of how we can create shared value by combining the expertise of our partners with the core expertise of Telenor.

App helping people with disabilities

The Association of Paraplegics together with the Board of European Students of Technology – Local group Podgorica (BEST), will receive support for creation and launch of Android smartphone application that will contain information about objects and locations accessible to people with disabilities. It will include locations in four towns in Montenegro: , Podgorica, and . The support from the Foundation will be both financial and logistical, as Telenor Foundation will also help BEST organize academic courses that will help young people to improve knowledge in creating Android applications, designing and becoming part of the competitive global market.

Blogging School

Digitalizuj.Me is the other partner that will receive support from the Telenor Foundation for implementation of the Blogging School and strengthening digital literacy in Montenegro. This project will serve as a link for other initiatives that will be implemented in co-operation between Digitalizuj.Me and Telenor Foundation. “People are educating and improving the society they live in and they do this with the help of various Internet applications and platforms. I am confident that the projects we have selected will make a visible difference in the society. Telenor Foundation will provide full financial and logistical support to our partners in the implementation of the selected projects and shaping more digital environment here in Montenegro,” said Michael Malvebo, Chairman of Telenor Foundation Managing Board and added - We are just starting, and beginning of next year we plan to intensify this type of activities.”

Changing for better by virtue of Internet
