After the busy term, the holidays come as a welcome respite, and an opportunity to rest and recuperate before another busy time in Term 2. We have a hectic week ahead, and already a group of students are in Te Awamutu participating in the Central North Island Coaching Clinics to select Teams for the New Zealand Area Schools Tournament, which this year is in Rotorua. As a staff we have been delighted with the majority of our students this term – they have worked extremely hard, are progressing well, and have made our School a great place to be. There is a very positive tone around the School, with increasingly positive levels of interaction between students of all ages. It is very heartening when visitors comment on the friendly and very welcoming atmosphere they discover here. The presence of pupils of such a range of ages has many positive benefits – older students tend to moderate their behaviour around the younger children, while the older students can be fantastic role models, and mentors, for our younger pupils.
