We Always Aim to Supply Transfers of the Highest Quality in Mint Condition
INTRODUCTION We hope you enjoy reading through our latest catalogue. We aim to provide restorers and historic vehicle enthusiasts with transfers and graphics to the highest attainable standard. Our background is mainly motor cycle orientated but over the years we have found that many motor cycle transfers were used on bicycles, and vice versa. If you are unable to find what you need always ask - we may be about to have the item printed. The majority of our stocks are the popular waterslide transfers but we also supply vinyl graphics where originally they were in that format. Low volume sellers are also supplied as vinyl graphics where a waterslide print run would be totally uneconomic. We use only best quality cast 10 year vinyl with a 'thinness' of 50 microns (2 thou inch). We are also able to offer white registration letters and numbers in four sizes, 1¾ inch and 2½ inch deep for motor cycles and 3 inch and 3½ inch for three wheelers and motor cars. See last page for further details. By far the majority of our artwork is produced by hand-drawing (as were the originals) and we resist the temptation to produce transfers using standard computer fonts, thus keeping the period look of the originals. We have tried to be as accurate as we can with the relevant location and year information in our listings, but your detailed knowledge of a particular model may well be greater than ours. 250 Triumph/BSA Rocker Arm Mods As a Professional Triumph
250 Triumph/BSA Rocker Arm Mods As a professional Triumph mechanic during the early 1970’s, I remember the 250cc singles very well. These machines were built by BSA, with some being re-branded to Triumph. Models included the BSA B25 and Triumph T25. They were easy to work on and fun to ride because the engine would rev up effortlessly. However, they were highly susceptible to valve flotation and subsequent valve train damage. And since these engines performed so well at high RPM, loss of compression from valve damage was something we saw all the time. Damage Repair To repair this problem, the first step is to remove the cylinder head and both RH engine covers to inspect the entire valve train. The cam followers (tappets) should slide freely in the engine case over their full length without binding, and fall out from the fully-lifted position under their own weight. A bent cam follower will bind at its extreme lift point. Bent tappets must be replaced. The exhaust valve can easily be checked for leaking by holding the exhaust port straight up and watching the combustion chamber while pouring in thin solvents. A bent valve will let solvent gush by. A valve in good condition should hold solvent for at least 3 seconds. Photo 1. Stock rocker arms and the compression release lug Future Prevention After replacing valves and lifters you have repaired the damage, but not the cause. The real culprit is that the valve train weighs too much to sustain high RPM. You could install heavier valve springs, but that would simply wear out the cam and cam followers. -

Brought to You by the Dorset Section VMCC
Brought to you by the Dorset section VMCC Hello and welcome to issue six of LDN. Thank you for the nice comments, we’re glad it’s keeping you mildly diverted in these difficult times. Greetings also to the new subscribers, please feel free to tell your friends about us and perhaps come and join us on one of our events once all this is over. And lastly, a huge thank you to everybody that’s taking the time to send in articles and materials for this, and future editions of LDN; without you none of this would be possible. Grab a coffee, sit back and enjoy. Please stay safe and well Paul Miles First up, Betsy. I saw this photograph hanging at her home about two years ago. It’s a fantastic moment in time and unlikely ever to be repeated. Can you imagine English Heritage letting nasty, oily motorcyclists, let alone their nastier, oilier bikes(!) anywhere near Stonehenge now? I mean, we wouldn’t want to damage the stones that have survived 4000 years with our BSAs… Stonehenge Section visits..............Stonehenge. By Betsy Barber. In the late 80's when I was Madame Chairman of the Stonehenge Section the committee decided it would be a good idea for local publicity to have a photo of the Section taken at the stones. The photo could be circulated to the local press and, as it happened, I had a good contact at the Salisbury Journal in the form of Roger Elliott their staff photographer. We, myself and the late Commander Francis Hay RN a committee member, approached the authorities to gain permission to assemble a group of members and their bikes behind the barriers but in front of the stones. -
