On January 13, 2006, we launched the first AMS Radio Index, a scientifically conducted national survey of 1,008 American adults, which revealed important and fascinating information about our most important constituency, the consumer. For one thing, we learned that 64 percent of the respondents said they were listening to radio as much as, or more than, they were five years ago. While ratings for the former Big Three television networks and circulation figures for daily newspapers continue slipping, commercial radio is demonstrating, yet again, that despite the ongoing changes we are seeing in the world of technology, our medium continues to be relevant to the 21st Century consumer. The initial AMS Radio Index generated so much interest that we have decided to commission at least two national surveys a year. The results of our second index will be available soon on our newly redesigned website (www.americanmediaservices.com), and we invite you to visit. In addition, our new website has a "blog," which we are calling "Industry Viewpoints," and we hope this will be the beginning of provocative and timely discussions about radio's future. At AMS, we continue to be bullish about radio, and we want to get the word out. We invite you to join us. See you in Vegas. fig American Media Services, ac American Media Services would welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your developmental engineering or brokerage needs during your visit to the NAB Convention in Las Vegas.
