WB/Assam Border) Section to 2 Lanes with Paved Shoulders Under NHDP-IV on EPC Basis WEST BENGAL CONNECTS TO PROGRESS The State of West Bengal, a key centre for trade with South East Asian countries, had a total length of 2,908 km of National Highways till May 2014. In 2018, the total length of NH in West Bengal including in principle National Highways has reached 3,565 km. Significant investments are being made to transform National Highway infrastructure in West Bengal. This is adding to the overall socio-economic growth of the State. “When a network of good roads is created, the economy of the country also picks up pace. Roads are veins and arteries of the nation, which help to transform the pace of development and ensure that prosperity reaches the farthest corners of our nation.” NARENDRA MODI Prime Minister “In the past four years, we have expanded the length of Indian National Highways network to 1,26,350 km. The highway sector in the country has seen a 20% growth between 2014 and 2018. Tourist destinations have come closer. Border, tribal and backward areas are being connected seamlessly. Multimodal integration through road, rail and port connectivity is creating socio economic growth and new opportunities for the people. Upon completion it will bridge the distance between Kakdwip and Bakkhali, while adding convenience for commuters and tourists travelling to the Sunderbans, by reducing travel time and cost. It will promote cross border motoring, trade and tourism, while creating new socio economic growth for the people of this region. It will pass through NH-327B, NH-31C, NH-31 & NH-10. Cross Border Road corridor along AH-48 Enhancing sub-regional road connectivity between Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal, a cross border road corridor worth Rs. 938 Cr has been proposed. It will pass through NH-717, NH-31, NH-31C and NH-317A. 12 Bankura-Purulia section The Bankura-Purulia section of NH-60A has been upgraded to 2 lane with paved shoulders at a total cost of Rs. 340 Cr. The road, adorned with Terracotta sculptures will ensure smooth and unhindered flow of tra¤c between the two districts. Infrastructure enroute includes a Toll plaza, ROB, bus bays, improvement of junctions and green plantations along medians. 13 Pundibari-Baxirhat section The Pundibari to Baxirhat section of NH-31 at West Bengal-Assam border is being upgraded to 2 lanes with paved shoulders. At a Glance 46 km length Rs. 399 Cr total cost 14 Nandakumar-Digha section The upgradation of NH-116B has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 397 Cr for e¤cient and safe mobility of tra¤c between Nandakumar-Digha section. It will facilitate local, commercial as well as tourist vehiles enroute to the popular travel destination of Digha. Hasimara-Salsalabari section The 46 km Hasimara-Salsalabari section of NH-31C in Alipurduar district is being upgraded to 2 lane with paved shoulders in the district of Alipurduar in West Bengal. 15 Construction of ROBs under Setu Bharatam 20 ROBs worth Rs. 2,294 Cr have been sanctioned for upgradation of level crossings for safe, speedy and seamless movement of tra¤c. 16 Ongoing projects of MoRTH in West Bengal Sl. Online platforms such as Paytm and Amazon are also made available for easy accessibility of FASTag across country.

Such CPCs will directly operate under the administrative control of the DC (F&S)s and overall supervision of the Director, DDP&S of Food and Supplies Department. The Governor is now pleased to decide that a total number of 350 (Three Hundred and Fifty) nd CPCs out of which 293 are 1st CPCs ,55 are 2 CPCs and 2 are additional CPCs,will be operationalised as shown in the table below. The registration of new farmers in 1st CPCs will commence from 1sI October 2020 and paddy purchase will commence from 1st November 2020. The registration of farmers nd as well as purchase of paddy in 2 CPCs and additional CPCs will commence from 1st December 2020 onwards. The Director of DDP&S and the DCF&S concerned will ensure that all the 1st CPCs are fully functional for undertaking procurement of paddy w.e.f. 1st November, 2020.
