PROPOSED 20MPH SPEED LIMIT
STATEMENT OF REASONS
Leicestershire County Council (LCC) is proposing to lower the speed limit in the village of Houghton on the Hill from 30mph to 20mph. Given its rural location, size of the village, the nature of its narrow roads and the speeds recorded it is conducive of a 20mph speed limit.
By introducing the 20mph speed limit it enables LCC to use repeater signs to remind motorists of the limit.
This order will not alter the existing speed limit terminal locations. THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, HOUGHTON ON THE HILL ,DISTRICT OF HARBOROUGH) (IMPOSITION OF 20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 202
