At present, both religious serve in the same community in Zabrze. Father Wojciech is the superior and pastor of the big parish and Father Jacek is a chaplain in the transplantation clinic. The solemn dinner was attended by the auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Gliwice, the provincial of the Camillians, numerous confreres and diocesan clergy from Zabrze. Father Provincial thanked the jubilates for their ministry and wished them to continue to be faithful witnesses of Christ in the modern world.

    FINANCIAL SERVICES REPORT Fiscal Year Ended August 31, 2016 ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW YORK Dear fr iends in the Lord, Our beloved Archdiocese of New York encompasses ten coun- ties and a wide variety of people whose participation enriches our parishes, schools, apostolates of charity, and so many organiza- tions in our communities, large and small. We are blessed to be drawn together by our faith and the commitment to live it fully. In these unsett led times, I am inspired by the dedication of the men and women who off er their time, talent, and treasure to advance the kingdom of God here in our corner of New York. Th is is the eighth time that I have presented a fi nancial report to describe the far-reaching activities of our central offi ces. Please read it carefully. It refl ects the dedicated eff orts of priests, deacons, religious, and faithful to serve the almost three million Catholics in our archdiocese. Th ese include employees and volunteers of parishes, schools, catechetical programs, Saint Joseph’s Seminary, and charitable initiatives on behalf of our less fortunate broth- ers and sisters in the Lord. Of course, many of our outreach programs extend to those who do not share our faith, such as the selfl ess work of Catholic Charities, which this year is celebrating its centennial. For a century, the over ninety affi liated agencies of our Catholic Charities federation have helped children, families, vulnerable adults, immigrants, refugees, and others who need a compassionate, helping hand. Similarly, our ArchCare program provides continuing health care for people of all ages and faiths at home, in the parishes.

Evans Shang, SD A TALK DELIVERED DURING THE KUMBO DEANERY CLERGY RECOLLECTION, AT THE SAINT JEROME’S BIBLICAL AND PASTORAL CENTRE – KUMBO, TH ON TUESDAY, 9 ​ JUNE 2020 ​ OPENING PRAYER O Spirit of God, we ask you to help orient all our actions by your inspirations, carry them on by your gracious assistance, that every prayer and work of ours may always begin from you and through you be happily ended.1 INTRODUCTION Sometime in late November 2016, in the Gregorian University in Rome, a Jesuit Priest and Professor was giving a lesson in one compulsory Spirituality Course, dealing with Ignatian Spirituality2. ​ During his introductory remarks, about the characteristics of Ignatian Spirituality, he asked us, the licentiate students: “What is the difference between a Jesuit Priest who obviously is Religious, and a Diocesan Priest who obviously isn’t Religious?”. Some silence followed. Looking around and seeing no hand up, one licentiate student, a Diocesan Priest, from Kumbo in Cameroon, timidly raised up his right hand. The Professor nodded in affirmation, and the Priest confidently answered aloud: “The difference is clear: A Jesuit Priest brings Jesus to the people, while a ​ Diocesan Priest takes the people to Jesus”. The silence in the aula was ​ broken by some light laughter. Then, the apparently puzzled Professor now smiled and said: “Please, let’s proceed”. 1 M.     The Feast of All Saints In the Divine Will From the Writings of The Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta The Little Daughter of the Divine Will All Saints Many of the greatest Saints of both the old and new Testaments are referred to in Luisa’s life and writings. Each of these Saints is known in particular for one or more heroic virtues that identify and make them unique from other Saints. Luisa possessed all their virtues to an exceeding degree being surpassed only by the Blessed Virgin Mary, and our Lord Jesus. Luisa does share with them the greatest of all gifts—the living in the Divine Will. Luisa did not have the gift of the Immaculate Conception, only Adam and Eve prior to their fall shared this with Our Blessed Mother. However they both fell, while Our Blessed Mother remains always and forever Immaculate. The following is a brief list of Saints related to Luisa’s life and writings by Him, and I was so touched that I would cry bitterly. One day, while working, I so oppressed by the pain, that I could not breathe. Fearing something, I wanted to distract myself by going out to the balcony. But as I go about looking in the middle of it my loving Jesus with the Cross upon His shoulders. Some pulled Him to one side, some to another. All panting, with His face dripping with blood, He raised His eyes toward me in the act of asking for help. Who can tell the sorrow I felt, and the impression that a scene so pitiful made on my soul.
