Cuvinte cheie: Gampsocleis glabra, Bugeac steppe, Orthoptera Gampsocleis glabra is a new species for the Republic of Moldova; moreover, this species is rarely and is included in European Red Lists as an endangered species. This species were observed in summer of 2008 in „Bugeac Steppe”. In result of investigations were established that Gampsocleis glabra (Herbst, 1786) belong to subfamily Tettigoniinae Krauss, 1902; tribe Gampsocleidini Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878; genus Gampsocleis Fieber, 1852. The synonyms of scientific name: Decticus alberti Seidl, 1937, Gampsocleis annae Shugurov, 1908, Gampsocleis podolica Shugurov, 1908, Locusta glabra Herbst, 1786, Locusta prima Schaff, 1776. This is a new species for the fauna of the Republic of Moldova; furthermore, this species has in many countries of Europe a status as an endangered or critically endangered species and is protected by European laws [1]. G. glabra is a xerophilous and praticolous insect, which prefers steppe vegetations, where the height of the herbal layer taller than 30 cm and more with steppe vegetations like Poa angustifolia, Bromopsis inermis, Elytrigia repens, Eremopyrum triticeum, Festuca valesiaca, Stipa capillata, Taraxacum officinale, Festuca valesiacea, Poa angustifolia; and shrubs - Thumus marschallianus, Crataegus curvisepala, Rosa spinossima, Rosa prutensis [2]. G. glabra can be meeting together with other Orthoptera insects characteristic for steppe vegetation: Phaneroptera falcata, Tettigonia viridissima, Platycleis vittata, P. tesselata, P. intremedia, Gryllus campestris, Melanogryllus desertus, Oecanthus pellucens, Calliptamus italicus, Oedaleus decorus, Oedipoda caerulescens, Dociostaurus brevicollis, Stenobothrus lineatus, Omocestus viridulus, O. rufipes, O. haemorrhoidalis, O. minutus, Myrmeleotettix maculatus, Chorthippus brunneus, Ch. bigutullus, Ch. mollis, Ch. albomarginatus, Ch. loratus, Euchorthippus pulvinatus, E. declivius and other.
