Kosovës, Të nderuar ministra e deputetë, përfaqësues institucionalë, dhe të korit diplomatik, zonja dhe zotërinj e gjithë ju të pranishëm, Në kuadër të Vitit Mbarëkombëtar të Gjergj Kastriotit- Skënderbeut, jemi mbledhur sot, që përmes kësaj Konference shkencore ndërkombëtare të kujtojmë dhe nderojmë, atë që na dha emër si askush tjetër deri më sot - Gjergj Kastriotin- Skënderbeun, në 550-vjetorin e kalimit të tij në amshim. Jemi sot, këtu, për ta kujtuar dhe respektuar atë që na bën të ndjehemi krenarë, duke personifikuar një epokë të tërë të historisë kombëtare të shqiptarëve. Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, hyri në skenën e historisë në një moment tepër kritik për Shqipërinë dhe për fatin e Evropës. Nën udhëheqjen e tij lufta e shqiptarëve u ngrit në një shkallë të lartë e të organizuar, shënoi një kthesë vendimtare në zhvillimin politik të vendit dhe në forcimin e vetëdijes kombëtare të tyre. Figura e tij paraqet një nga ato raste, jo të shpeshta në histori, kur shtresat e ndryshme shoqërore të një kombi takohen me një personalitet të shquar, në të cilën gjejnë shprehjen e vet aspiratat e vetitë e tyre më të mira dhe që për këtë arsye bëhet simbol i bashkimit kombëtar dhe i luftës së tyre të përbashkët. Ai e kuptoi, më qartë se kushdo tjetër, detyrën që shtronte çasti historik, nevojën e bashkimit politik si kusht kryesor për të realizuar mbrojtjen e interesave të vendit. Duke njohur këtë botëkuptim, se shqiptarët nuk mund të arrinin në fitore, pa kapërcyer copëtimin politik të vendit në një varg zotërimesh, pa një bazë organizative të qëndrueshme, pa bashkërendimin e mjeteve dhe të burimeve njerëzore, ekonomike, ushtarake e materiale e të gjitha veprimeve që zhvilloheshin në rrafsh të brendshëm me veprimet e ndërmarra në aspekt ndërkombëtar. Një nga hapat e parë në këtë drejtim qe themelimi, me nismën e nën drejtimin e tij, i Besëlidhjes Shqiptare të Lezhës, që përbënte të parin bashkim të gjerë politik të shqiptarëve. Aftësitë e Skënderbeut si burrë shteti spikatën edhe në marrëdhëniet me botën e jashtme. Përveç krijimit të marrëdhënieve me shtetet e sferës perëndimore, edhe me shtetin osman ka përfunduar dy marrëveshje. Në vitin 1460 u arrit marrëveshja e bashkëpunimit trevjeçar, ndërsa marrëveshja e dytë është përfunduar në prill të vitit 1463 në Shkup. Ndërkohë, pas luftës, për qytetin e Dejës, më 4 tetor 1448, u nënshkrua Traktati i Paqes me Venedikun. Ky është dokumenti i parë që njohim deri tani, ku Lidhja Shqiptare del si subjekt i pavarur në marrëdhëniet ndërkombëtare. Zonja dhe zotërinj, Me këtë rast, kur po përkujtojmë 550-vjetorin e heroit tonë kombëtar, është e rëndësishme të theksohet dashuria dhe respekti që gëzonte Skënderbeu nga të tjerët dhe roli i tij përbashkues. Kujtimi i Skënderbeut jetoi jo vetëm në zemrën e popullit që e lindi, por vepra dhe figura e tij mori përmasa me rendësi evropiane. Ai u lartësua nga personalitetet e shquara evropiane të kohës. Burri i shtetit anglez i shek. XVII, Uiliam Temple, e vë Skënderbeun në radhët e shtatë kapiteneve më të mëdhenj jo mbretër, pranë Belisarit e Huniadit, kurse filozofi frëng, Volter, ka shkruar: “Sikur perandorët bizantinë të qenë Skënderbe, Perandoria e Lindjes do të kishte shpëtuar”. Pra, jo rastësisht është shkruar një literaturë e shumëllojtë, prej qindra vëllimesh, të botuara në shumë gjuhë dhe në katër anët e botës. Skënderbeu i detyroi të gjitha kohërat të flisnin për të. Andaj, veprimtaria kombëtare e radhiti atë në grupin e figurave më emblematike, si shëmbëlltyrë e udhëheqjes luftarake, sakrificës e përpjekjeve për pavarësi politike dhe bashkim të të gjitha viseve shqiptare në një shtet kombëtar. Prandaj, vepra e tij patriotike ka inspiruar breza të tërë, u thurën këngë në popull, u emëruan sheshe, rrugë, shkolla, dhe u ngritën buste. Ai u bë frymëzim edhe në artin letrar, muzikor dhe në atë pamor. Për fund, urojmë që kjo konferencë dhe i gjithë aktiviteti kushtuar Vitit të Gjergj Kastriotit-Skënderbeut, të na shërbej si mundësi për të gjithë studiuesit për t’u njohur me gjetjet e reja shkencore, lidhur me epokën e Skënderbeut. Duke, ju dëshiruar punë të mbarë e të frytshme, i shpall të hapura punimet e Konferencës shkencore ndërkombëtare: “Gjergj Kastrioti-Skënderbeu në 550-vjetorin e vdekjes”. Ju falënderojmë për vëmendje! Prishtinë, më 16 tetor 2018 Gjon BERISHA (Prishtinë) GJERGJ KASTRIOTI-SKËNDËRBEU DHE QËNDRIMI MODUS VIVENDI I REPUBLIKËS SË RAGUZËS Që nga fillimi i pushtimeve osmane në Ballkan, Raguza shërbeu si qendër e informacioneve në Evropën e krishterë lidhur me rrethanat në Arbëri, ku zhvilloheshin luftime kundër pushtuesit osman dhe përmes Raguzës mbaheshin lidhje me mbretin hungarez Sigismundin. Prandaj shumica e dokumente raguzane që trajtojnë periudhën pararendëse të Skënderbeut, janë lajme që Raguza i ofronte Sigismundit për gjendjen në Arbëri dhe Bosnje. Vetë perandori dhe mbreti hungarez do t’u dërgonte zotit Andrea Topia dhe disa udhëheqësve tjera arbërorë letra dhe udhëzime, gjithnjë nëpërmjet Raguze. Kjo formë e komunikimit përmes Raguzës, vërtetohet edhe nga vet Andrea Topia, i cili i shkruante perandorit se letrat e tua nuk i kemi por i marrim vesh tërthorazi nga Raguza. Prandaj, Senati i Raguzës, i cili e njihte sovranitetin e perandorit

Signature 2 To the five Albanian families for opening their homes and sharing their stories with me. 3 Abstract My research explores the dialectical relationship between identity and the conceptualisation/creation of history and heritage in migration by studying a socially excluded group in Greece, that of Albanian families. Even though the Albanian community has more than twenty years of presence in the country, its stories, often invested with otherness, remain hidden in the Greek ‘mono-cultural’ landscape. In opposition to these stigmatising discourses, my study draws on movements democratising the past and calling for engagements from below by endorsing the socially constructed nature of identity and the denationalisation of memory. A nine-month fieldwork with five Albanian families took place in their domestic and neighbourhood settings in the areas of Athens and Piraeus. Based on critical ethnography, data collection was derived from participant observation, conversational interviews and participatory techniques. From an individual and family group point of view the notion of habitus led to diverse conceptions of ethnic identity, taking transnational dimensions in families’ literal and metaphorical back- and-forth movements between Greece and Albania.

    Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova 29 Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova Jahja Drançolli* Abstract In the present study it is examined the issue of Illyrian- Albanian continuity in the areal of Kosova, a scientific problem, which, due to the reasons of daily policy, has extremely become exploited (harnessed) until the present days. The politicisation of the ancient history of Kosova begins with the Eastern Crisis, a time when the programmes of Great-Serb aggression for the Balkans started being drafted. These programmes, inspired by the extra-scientific history dressed in myths, legends and folk songs, expressed the Serb aspirations to look for their cradle in Kosova, Vojvodina. Croatia, Dalmatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Montenegro. Such programmes, based on the instrumentalized history, have always been strongly supported by the political circles on the occasion of great historical changes, that have overwhelmed the Balkans. Key Words: Dardania and Dardans in antiquity, Arbers and Kosova during the Middle Ages, geopolitical, ethnic, religious and cultural concepts, which are known in the sources of that time followed by a chronological development. The region of Kosova preserves archeological monuments from the beginnings of Neolith (6000-2600 B.C.). Since that time the first settlements were constructed, including Tjerrtorja (Prishtinë), Glladnica (Graçanicë), Rakoshi (Istog), Fafos and Lushta (Mitrovicë), Reshtan and Hisar (Suharekë), Runik (Skenderaj) etc. The region of Kosova has since the Bronze Age been inhabited by Dardan Illyrians; the territory of extension of this region was much larger than the present-day territory of Kosova. * Prof. Jahja Drançolli Ph. The written sources were mainly preserved outside Albania, in different states, in many archives, in public, private or church libraries, and mostly in foreign languages. One of the richest Middle Age archives (especially for the XII-XV century) concerning the history of Albanians in particular and of the Western Balkan in general, is the State Archive in Dubrovnik,1 due to the important role that Dubrovnik had in economic, social and financial relations with neighbouring countries. The funds of this archive contain numerous documents, acts and testaments, of a public or private character, about Albanians and territories they lived.

Dr. TEUTA SHALA-PELI Assistant Professor Institute of History "Ali Hadri", Prishtina Kosovo Abstract: There are many foreign scholars who with their writings have contributed to the brightening of the life and work of Gjergj Kastriot- Skanderbeg. Interesting information backed by facts and scientific arguments, is also brought to us by the researcher Kostandin Jirecek. Although his works are not devoted directly to Skanderbeg, however Jerichek in his writings, by treating the history of the Albanian people, has shown an interest in the figure of Gjergj Kastriot-Skënderbeu, providing us with important notions about the life and work of our hero, information which are built on the basis of archival resources. Since we are at the 100th anniversary of the death of Constantin Jirecek and the 550th anniversary of the death of Skanderbeg, we found it reasonable to point out the scientific contribution of this scholar given to the treatment of the figure of our hero. To understand the scientific contribution of Kostandin Jirecek, to illuminate the image of Gjergj Kastriot-Skanderbeg and his age, we will undertake a scientific analysis of the notices that the scholar in question offers to the Kastrioti family in general starting with his grandfather Pal Kastrioti to continue with the information on Gjon Kastriot, Gjergj Kastriot-Skanderbeg's activity before 1443, for his wars against the Ottoman attacks, relations with neighboring countries such as Venice, Naples, Ragusa, then with local feudals, and issues which are related to the life and work of Gjergj Kastriot- Skanderbeg, and ultimately trying to draw a conclusion on the value and significance of the works of the scholar in question about Skanderbeg and his age.
