5 UCO Basketball Assistant Coaches Cameron Henderson In his third year as Central Oklahoma's assistant men's basketball coach is Cameron Henderson, who came to the Bronchos in July 2015 after a highly-successful three-year stint at Connors State College. Henderson has helped UCO to a 33-26 record the last two seasons, with the Bronchos going 16-14 in 2015-16 before improving to 17-12 last year. Cameron came to UCO after spending three years as assistant coach at Connors, with the Cowboys going 79-18 and qualifying for the junior college national tournament twice during that span. A three-time All-State performer at Hall High School in Little Rock, Ark., Henderson started his college career at Connors in 2007. He was a two-time All-Bi-State Conference and All-Region II selection for the Cowboys before signing with Division I Montana State. Henderson was a two-year letterman for the Bobcats and then stayed on as a student assistant coach. He returned to Connors as assistant coach in 2012. The Cowboys went 24-9 in 2012-13, followed with a 23-7 campaign and conference championship in 2013-14 and then had a 32-2 record this past season while winning conference and regional titles. Connors made the national tour- nament in 2013 and ’15, advancing to the Elite Eight this season. Henderson recruited the 2014 and ’15 Region II MVP award winners and 11 players signed with Division I schools during his tenure at Connors. Cameron is married (Kiesha) and has two children (Jaylin & Mirasia). Daniel Wheeler Daniel Wheeler enters in 2017-18 his first year as a full-time assistant men's basketball coach after serving as a graduate assistant for the past two seasons. Wheeler has helped UCO to a 33-26 record the past two seasons, with the Bronchos going 16-14 in 2015- 16 and then improving to 17-12 last year. Daniel came to the Bronchos after spending the previous two years as student assistant coach at MIAA rival Missouri Western. Wheeler worked three years before that as student manager/assistant coach at Northern Oklaho- ma-Tonkawa, helping the Mavericks to a best-year 27-4 record and conference championship during his last season. A native of Burden, Kan., Daniel was a four-year standout in football, basketball and baseball at Central High School. Daniel is married (Paige).

Dan Hays In his first season as a volunteer assistant, coaching legend Dan Hays joins the Broncho staff for the 2017- 18 season. One of the best basketball minds in country, arguably the best in the state, Hays brings a wealth of expe- rience that includes more than 700 wins as a head coach at the college level. He won 653 games at nearby Oklahoma Christian University, which stands as the most wins at one school in Oklahoma history. Hays is in the NAIA Hall of Fame, and in 2017, was awarded the prestigious Guardians of the Game Award, a national award given by the National Association of Basketball Coaches to a coach making a considerable impact on players and their communities. It’s widely considered to be one of the highest coaching honors given by the NABC. Hays won six Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season championships and one SAC tournament title at OC. He led Oklahoma Christian to nine NAIA Division I tournaments and reached the round of 16 five times, most recently in 2010. He has coached two NAIA players of the year.
