FORESTS ORDINANCE.

PROCLAMATION, No. 4 OF 1947, BY THE HIGH COMMISSIONER UNDER< SECTION 3.

IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in me by section 3 of the Cap. 61. Forests Ordinance, I, GENERAL SIR ALAN GORDON CUNNINGHAM, K.C.B., D.S.O., M.C, High Commissioner for Palestine, do here• by proclaim the land described in the Schedule hereto to be a Forest Reserve under the control and management of the Govern• ment. The Schedule to proclamation by the High Commissioner dated 25th March, 1926, and published in'the Gazette No. 161 dated 16th of April, 1926, shall be amended by deletion of Forest Reserve No. 57 Sha'ab Zeit and all particulars relating thereto. The boundaries of the Reserve are demarcated throughout by numbered Rock Marks consisting of iron bolts concreted into rocks and surrounded by a ring painted with cement wash.

SCHEDULE. Serial No. : 449. Name of Reserve : Shi'b Zeid (this Reserve consists of the localities Shi'b Zeid and Haraiq Zuhran). Situation : Within the village boundaries of Beitillu, and Deir Abu Mash'al, Sub-District. Boundaries : The boundaries of the Reserve are shown in detail by a green wash on village map of 1 :10,000 scale of the villages Peitillu, Jammala and Deir Abu Mash'al numbered F. 317; copy of the map is lodged at the offices of the Con• servator of Forests. NOTICE BY THE HIGH COMMISSIONER UNDER SECTION 22(2).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in exercise of the powers vested No. 24 of 1943. in him by section 22(2) of the Land (Acquisition for Public Pur• poses) Ordinance, 19-13, the High Commissioner has authorised the Local Council of El Bira, and the Local Council of El Bira is hereby authorised, to exercise all the powers and rights, and perform all the obligations, conferred or imposed on the High Commissioner or the Attorne}^ General under the provisions of the said Ordinance, for the purpose of, and in connection with, the acquisition of the land specified in the Schedule hereto, which said acquisition is, in the opinion of the High Commissioner, likely to prove useful to the public.

NOTICE is HEREBY GIVEN that the land specified in the Schedule hereto is re­ quired by the High Commissioner for public purposes absolutely, and that the ־ .High Commissioner is willing to treat for the acquisition of the said land

Any person claiming to have any right or interest in the said land who desires to receive compensation in respect of the said land is required within two months from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette to send to the Direc­ tor, Department of Land Settlement, a statement of his right or interest in the said land together with evidence in support, which evidence shall include particulars of the registration, if any, in the land registers, and a statement of any claim to compensation made by him, giving details of the compensation claimed, distin­ guishing the amounts under separate heads and showing how the amount claimed under each head is calculated.

AND NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the High Commissioner.intends to enter into possession of the said land at the expiration of two months from the date of the publication of this Notice in the Gazette and that the High Commissioner has directed, and it is hereby directed, that any person having possession of the said land shall yield up possession thereof on or before the expiration of the said period of two months.

Penalties. 5. Any person who contravenes, or fails to comply with, any of the provisions of this Order, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to the penalties provided in the Defence Regulations, 1939.

IN VIRTUE of the powers conferred on the High Commissioner No. 5 of 1941. by section 5(3) of the Immigration Ordinance, 1941, the High Commissioner for Palestine is pleased to order and it is hereby ordered as follows :—! The maximum aggregate number of immigration certificates in all categories that !may be granted during the period from the 15th July, 1947 to the 14th August, 1947 shall be 1,700.
