Morten Olsen will look to prolong his spell as Denmark coach as his side's UEFA EURO 2016 play-off against Sweden concludes on Tuesday with the Danes trailing 2-1 from the first leg in Solna. Previous meetings • Emil Forsberg handed Sweden the lead on Saturday when he swept in his first goal at international level. Zlatan Ibrahimović doubled the hosts' advantage with a 50th-minute penalty, only for Nicolai Jørgensen to give Denmark hope with a late away goal – his first strike for his country. • Sweden were the only team to beat Denmark during the Danes' glorious EURO '92 finals campaign. The neighbours also met at the finals of UEFA EURO 2004, drawing 2-2 in Porto. • Denmark overcame Sweden 1-0 in Copenhagen in October 2009 to pip their neighbours to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. That ended Sweden's record run of five straight qualifications for major tournaments. • The sides' last Copenhagen encounter was a May 2014 friendly, Daniel Agger scoring in a 1-0 Denmark win. • Sweden secured a 3-0 forfeit victory in their first qualifying away game against Denmark in June 2007, in a game that was abandoned with the score at 3-3, but lost 1-0 in that 2010 World Cup qualifier in the Danish capital. Form guide • Denmark's home record in UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying was W2 D1 L1; Sweden's away record in the campaign was W2 D2 L1. • Sweden are featuring in the UEFA European Championship play-offs for the first time. They succumbed to Portugal in a play-off for a place at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. • Denmark won their only previous EURO play-off, brushing aside Israel 8-0 on aggregate to reach UEFA EURO 2000. • Coach Olsen said: "It's pleasing that we get the opportunity to decide it all at home. During my time as national coach, we have qualified for major tournaments at home three times – one of these against Sweden [2010 World Cup]. Doing it in front of your own crowd is always special." Trivia and links • Sweden finished third in Group G behind Austria and Russia; Denmark were third in Group I behind Portugal and Albania. • Semi-finalists in 1992, Sweden are seeking to make the finals of the UEFA European Championship for a sixth time. Denmark have appeared in eight EUROs, memorably lifting the trophy on Swedish soil in '92 having been reinstated at the last minute. • The 1992 European champions, Denmark are the only former winners in the play-offs. • Olsen will step down at the end of Denmark's UEFA EURO 2016 campaign, having been in charge of the national side since 2000. • Sweden's Ibrahimović was the joint third highest scorer in UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying with eight goals. • Sweden coach Erik Hamrén won the Danish Super League in his last season at the Aalborg helm (2003–08). His assistant Marcus Allbäck scored 34 goals in 85 league games for FC København from 2005–08. • Sweden defender Mikael Antonsson plays in Denmark with København, where his team-mates include Denmark's Stephan Andersen, Thomas Delaney and Jørgensen. • Sweden's Pierre Bengtsson represented København from 2010–14. • Denmark defender Daniel Wass and Sweden striker John Guidetti are club-mates at Celta Vigo in Spain. • Sweden's Forsberg and Denmark's Yussuf Poulsen play together for Leipzig. • Sweden reserve goalkeeper Robin Olsen has Danish and Swedish citizenship; he was born in Sweden to Danish parents.

6 Denmark - Sweden Tuesday 17 November 2015 - 20.45CET (20.45 local time) Match press kit Parken Stadium, Copenhagen Head coach Morten Olsen Date of birth: 14 August 1949 Nationality: Danish Playing career: B 1901, Cercle Brugge KSV, RWD Molenbeek, RSC Anderlecht, 1. FC Köln Coaching career: Brøndby IF, 1. FC Köln, AFC Ajax, Denmark • A commanding central defender, he played most of his club football in Belgium, winning three national titles and the UEFA Cup with Anderlecht during a six-year spell from 1980–86. • Twice crowned Danish Player of the Year, he was captain of the legendary 'Dynamite' team of the mid-1980s that reached two successive UEFA European Championships and the 1986 FIFA World Cup; became the first Danish footballer to collect 100 caps in an international career spanning 19 years. • Went straight into coaching after hanging up his boots and proved an immediate hit, leading Brøndby to two Danish championships and to the semi-finals of the 1990/91 UEFA Cup – the furthest any Danish club had progressed in Europe. Moved on to coach old side Köln and then, following a two-year break, Ajax, where, assisted on the field by his ex-Denmark team-mate , he secured a Dutch league and cup double. • Appointed Denmark coach in 2000 and guided the team to the finals of the 2002 World Cup and UEFA EURO 2004. He retained the position despite a failure to qualify for the next two major tournaments. Further success followed as Denmark topped both their 2010 World Cup preliminary group, celebrating qualification with a 1-0 victory over Sweden in his 100th match at the helm, and their UEFA EURO 2012 section. • Could not steer the side beyond the initial stage of either tournament, but in spite of Demark missing out on the 2014 World Cup he was awarded a two-year contract extension encompassing the UEFA EURO 2016 campaign. Erik Hamrén Date of birth: 27 June 1957 Nationality: Swedish Playing career: Ljusdals IF, Stockviks FF Coaching career: Njurunda IK, IFK Sundsvall, Bro IK, Enköpings SK, Väsby IK, IF Brommapojkarna, Vasalunds IF, Degerfors IF, AIK Solna, Örgryte IS, Aalborg BK, Rosenborg BK, Sweden • Played the game only until his late teens. Began coaching at junior level before taking on his first senior posts with Swedish second-tier sides Väsby, Brommapojkarna and Vasalund. • Joined outfit Degerfors in 1994 and moved on a year later to AIK. Guided the club to three successive Swedish Cup finals, losing the first, in 1995, and winning the next two. Lifted the cup for a third time in 2000 with his next team Örgryte after two-legged final victory against AIK. Stayed for six seasons before going abroad in January 2004 to coach Danish side AaB. • Led AaB to the 2007/08 Danish Super League title – just the third championship in their history – yet announced mid-season he would be leaving at the end of the campaign for Rosenborg. • Masterminded runaway Tippeligaen title triumph for Rosenborg in his first full season. Replaced long-serving Sweden coach Lars Lagerbäck in November 2009, also remaining with Rosenborg until the onset of UEFA EURO 2012 qualification in September 2010. • Proved an immediate success in his new role, guiding Sweden to the finals thanks to a defeat of the Netherlands on the last day of qualifying, though they fell in the group stage. Missed out on the 2014 FIFA World Cup in a play-off with Portugal.

:: Team facts

EURO finals: The UEFA European Championship was a four-team event in 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972 and 1976 (when the preliminary round and quarter-finals were considered part of qualifying).

From 1980 it was expanded to an eight-team finals and remained in that format in 1984, 1988 and 1992 until 1996, when the 16-team format was adopted. UEFA EURO 2016 was the first tournament to be played as a 24-team finals.

Records of inactive countries A number of UEFA associations have been affected by dissolution or splits of member associations. For statistical purposes, the records of these inactive countries have been allocated elsewhere: therefore, all Soviet Union matches are awarded to Russia; all West Germany – but not East Germany – matches are awarded to Germany; all Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro matches are awarded to Serbia; all Czechoslovakia matches are allocated to both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Abandoned/forfeited matches For statisical purposes, when a match has been started and then abandoned but later forfeited, the result on the pitch at the time of abandonment is counted. Matches that never started and were either cancelled or forfeited are not included in the overall statistics.
