TERNA: AUTHORISATION PROCESS LAUNCHED FOR RESTRUCTURING THE ELECTRICITY GRID IN THE PROVINCE OF TERAMO • Notice published regarding property involved in the project • Restructuring will improve security and efficiency of the local electricity grid Rome, 6 February 2019 – Terna has launched the authorisation process for restructuring the electricity grid in the province of Teramo. In line with applicable legislation, it has published the list of parcels relative to property involved by project in local papers. The restructuring will improve the security and efficiency of the local electricity system and is required to guarantee greater continuity of supply in the area between Teramo and Pescara. This is particularly important in coastal areas during the summer months, when electricity consumption increases notably. The works include upgrading the Teramo substation, a new 132 kV power line between Cellino Attanasio and Roseto degli Abruzzi, and three connections in underground/overhead cable between the Teramo substation and the Villavalle – Villanova, Isola Gran Sasso – C.P.Teramo, and Cellino Attanasio – Golden Lady power lines. The project will involve the municipalities of Teramo, Basciano, Montorio al Vomano, Cellino Attanasio, Morro D’Oro, Atri and Roseto degli Abruzzi. Once restructuring of the electricity grid is complete, it will be possible to demolish around 7 km of old power lines in the municipalities of Teramo, Basciano and Montorio al Vomano. The owners of the parcels involved in the project may view the project or submit written observations within 30 days of publication of the notice, sending these to the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of Land and Sea, and Terna Rete Italia S.p.A.
