Još jed no subot nje veče pro vo dio sam sâm kod kuće, pita ju ći se kako sam zavr šio u neu red noj sobi tog gro znog hlad nog sta na u sute re nu, u cen tru Sid ne ja, kada sam tako dugo imao sve: udo ban dom u pred gra­ đu, sreć nu poro di cu, pre le pu ženu, pa čak i vrtorepog žgo lja vog psa. A sada sam spao na raz vr sta va nje crnih čara pa da ubi jem vre me dok ne bude dovolj no kasno da bez bed no odem na spa va nje, bez stra ha da ću se pro bu di ti u četi ri uju tro. Ako se sve že raz ve den čovek ose ća usa mlje no u dva uju tro, u četi ri je taj ose ćaj nepod noš ljiv. Želeo sam da iza đem i budem sa nekom ženom – bilo kojom – samo da neko ga zagr lim i dodir nem. Već sam bio na dovoljno „hit nih suda ra” da pre gu ram takve noći – ali me je para li sa la činjeni ca da je jedina žena koju i dalje volim i sa kojom želim da budem sada sa nekim drugim. Ose ćao sam se nemoć no, besno, i pre sve ga zaro blje no. Bio sam veoma depre si van. Moja situ a ci ja – očajna. A onda sam uzeo svoj sta ri ulu blje ni Mac Bo ok, otvo rio iTu nes i pustio AC/DC. Nisam iza brao „Back In Black”, „Hig hway To Hell”, „Thun der­ struck”, niti neku od pesa ma koje se redov no mogu čuti na kon cer ti ma tog austra lij skog ben da. (Austra li jan ci i dalje svo ja ta ju AC/DC iako se Angus i Mal colm Young posled njih godi na izu zet no tru de da se odrek­ nu svog austra lij skog nasleđa.) Pustio sam „Gim me A Bul let”, goto vo zabo ra vlje nu pesmu sa albu ma Powe ra ge iz 1978, koji se neka ko pro­ vu kao kroz puko ti ne mejnstrim pohva le i zao bi šao masov nu pro da ju. To je bio nji hov peti album, poslednji stu dij ski album koji su u zlat nom 11 Braća Young, kako je nastao AC/DC raz do blju AC/DC-ja, izme đu 1975. i 1980, pro du ci ra li sta ri ji brat Geor­ ge Young i Harry Van da, čla no vi neka daš njeg ben da Easybeats, a ujed no i nji hov naj ma nje zapažen album sa naj vi še umet nič kog kva li te ta. Na nje mu nema nijed ne loše pesme. „Oh, she hit me low.”1 Da, Bone, i meni je moja. Da li mi ovaj bend čita misli? Narav no, čuo sam za AC/DC i rani je, ali te večeri, dok sam sedeo na zače lju kre ve ta, pot pu no me je zapa nji lo to što sam slu šao. Taj čvr sti ton. Ener gi ja koja raste. Raz li či ti, ali neka ko ispre ple te ni zvu ci gita re. Bez Angu so vih ukra sa – što je ret kost za AC/DC. Samo među sob no ukrš ta nje Youn go vih uz sna­ žan gruv nji ho ve ritam­sek ci je. A reči su bile melem za dušu, rastrgnutu zbog odla ska moje supru ge. Konač no sam ih raz u meo. Kada se pesma zavr ši la, morao sam da pre slu šam ceo album – a potom i još jed nom. Više nego ije dan dru gi pret hod ni ili nared ni album, Powe ra ge, koji tra je neš to manje od 40 minu ta, pred sta vlja zvuč ni pri kaz stvar nog živo­ ta, pot pu no obič nog i poro dič nog, ona ko kako ga vidi gru pa neu gled nih muš ka ra ca koja ozbilj no pre ten du je na titu lu naj ve ćeg roken rol ben da svih vre me na. Skle pan za svega neko li ko nede lja u studi ju na petom spra tu sada poru še ne kuće „Boo me rang” u Sid ne ju, Powe ra ge nije samo album o sek­ su, opi ja nju, oruž ju i oluj nom vreme nu. The $1.1 billion footwear, apparel and accessories company has been a phenomenon in our culture since the early 1980’s, but the question everyone wants to know is, why has the Timberland boot re­ mained so popular, when so many other styles have come and gone? “Kids are our main customers; when they pick a style they like, it is an instant fad,” said Lenora Allen, manager of Sound Feet Shoes here in Elizabeth City. At Sound Feet Shoes, the boot’s popularity is evident in the massive display areas in the men’s, women’s, and children’s depart­ ments that are dedicated to Timberland boots. In January alone, Allen’s store sold over 160 pair of Timberland boots, of the more than 50 styles available there.
