Annual Calendar 2021 ANAPA I G T M H I H S T E K M A P L L I E R S HINDU TEMPLE OF PLANO SRI LAKSHMI GANAPATHI TEMPLE 3829 W Spring Creek Pkwy Suite # 110 Plano TX 75023 | (972)635-3456, (512)466-1789 2021 CALENDAR About the Temple Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple (SLGT), Hindu Temple of Plano is located at 3829 W. Spring Creek Pkwy Suite 110 in Plano, TX, a northern suburb of Dallas, TX, USA. The temple was started with the blessings of H H Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji along with Pandit Kameswara Sharmaji. The main deities in the temple are Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Prathisthapana followed by Lord Siva, Lord Subramanya Swamy, Sri Mahalakshmi, Sri Hanuman and Sai Baba deities. The temple is going to expand by an 8 feet high Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi and also with Garuda that is coming the middle of April 2018 when the Prana Prathisthapana is going to be performed. The idea for building the temple is to bring together Hindus and spiritual seek- ers of all origins in the rapidly growing city of Plano, Frisco and surrounding areas all over Dallas, TX and all over the USA. History Priests Worship Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple was started in June Rules of Agama require a temple priest to serve and Several types of religious services performed at the 2011. With the help of several generous donors both act as an intermediary between the worshipper and Temple: Archana, Abhishekam, Sathyanarayana from the local area as well as from other cities in the God. The Temple priests Sri Kameshwara SharmaJi Puja, Kalyana Utsavam, Homa and many others. USA, the temple was established and also went into and Sri Maruthi Sharmaji come from a family with expansion of the temple with Sri Rama Parivar, Temple priesthood as their traditional occupation Swamy Ayyappa, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy, Sri Val- and learned their skills from a young age. All the lidevasena Subramanya Swamy and Sri Kanyaka daily and weekly rituals are performed by the Parameswari deities. The temple had organized Sri priests. Special occasions require additional Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam twice within the priests, who are then invited from other Temples in last two years with great success. the United States and India. With more than 663 million followers, it even forms the third largest religious domination-after Christianity (1.67 billion) and Islam (881 million). The „Hinduism‟ is based on the scriptures like the Vedas, the Puranas, the Upanisads, the epics like the Mahabharat, and the Ramayana and also on the philosophies of saints and Hindu priests as well as Brahminical way of life. Teej is the festival and ritual especially for the Hindu women, celebrated on the third day after the new moon in Nepali month of Bhadra Sukla Trayodasi (August).

    SACRED SPACES AND OBJECTS: THE VISUAL, MATERIAL, AND TANGIBLE George Pati BRAUER MUSEUM OF ART | APRIL 13 — MAY 8, 2016 WE AT THE BRAUER MUSEUM are grateful for the opportunity to present this exhibition curated by George Pati, Ph.D., Surjit S. Patheja Chair in World Religions and Ethics and Valparaiso University associate professor of theology and international studies. Through this exhibition, Professor Pati shares the fruits of his research conducted during his recent sabbatical and in addition provides valuable insights into sacred objects, sites, and practices in India. Professor Pati’s photographs document specific places but also reflect a creative eye at work; as an artist, his documents are also celebrations of the particular spaces that inspire him and capture his imagination. Accompanying the images in the exhibition are beautiful textiles and objects of metalware that transform the gallery into its own sacred space, with respectful and reverent viewing becoming its own ritual that could lead to a fuller understanding of the concepts Pati brings to our attention.
