CYBERSECURITY The BIG GAP in TALENT Cyber Protection Eight Recommendations for How Organizations Can Bridge the Cybersecurity Talent Gap Digital Transformation Institute By Capgemini Digital Transformation Institute 2 Cybersecurity Talent: The Big Gap in Cyber Protection There are many dimensions to effective cyber-risk management and protection— from strategy and operations, to governance and culture—but one of the biggest problems is simply the lack of talent. Those companies that are able to attract and retain cybersecurity talent will be much more successful in managing digital risk and profiting from the digital opportunity. In our 2017 research with LinkedIn, “The Digital Talent Gap—Are Companies Doing Enough?” we looked at how the digital talent gap has widened and what needs to happen for organizations to tackle this critical issue. This latest research builds on what we learned but focuses on cybersecurity talent, a skill set that is in low supply and in particularly high demand. We have: • Surveyed over 1,200 senior executives and front-line employees • Interviewed key experts, drawn from academia, cybersecurity associations, and the recruitment sector • Analyzed social media sentiment of around 8,400 current and former employees at 53 cybersecurity firms. The research methodology at the end of the report provides more detail on our approach. In this report, we offer eight key recommendations for organizations to address two key priorities. • Priority One: Stepping up the acquisition of cybersecurity talent • Priority Two: Improving

  • Auticon Another Perspective Company Profile
auticon Another perspective Company profile The IT service provider auticon, headquartered in Munich, is the first company in Germany and multiple other international locations to exclusively employ people on the autism spectrum as IT consultants, combining economic and social goals. Autistic employees often have special talents in logic, attention to detail and pattern recognition. Many have a pronounced interest in IT, physics, mathematics and technology and are therefore ideally suited for the technological challenges of the present and the future (e.g. Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, etc.). Although autistic people often have outstanding skills and a very good education, only about 15 percent are integrated into the first labor market. At auticon, this problem is being tackled by a special business model: The company hires autistic IT consultants and integrates them in various customer projects. Job coaches provide advice and practical support In order for auticon consultants to be able to fulfill their full potential, auticon provides qualified job coaches and project managers, to guide both consultants and client employees on inclusive workplaces. In this way, customers receive outstanding quality work in the IT sector: in the ideation and concept phase, consultants strengthen the customer's project team through their pattern and error recognition and their high innovative strength; in the implementation phase, they stand out with their systematic approach, attention to detail and ability to concentrate – qualities that are particularly valuable in IT quality assurance. At auticon, consultants are offered a career rather than just a job. Despite their high professional competence, they often face challenges inherent with interpersonal interactions such as eye and body contact, dealing with facial expressions and nuances, unclear communication, selection of stimuli which can make it difficult to deal with and cooperate with other people.

Social Innovation - Scaling Social Impact: a Danish Case Study Roger SPEAR & Carman Ka Man CHAN CIRIEC No. 2019/22 Social Innovation - Scaling Social Impact: a Danish Case Study* Roger Spear1 and Carman Ka Man Chan2 Working paper CIRIEC No. 2019/22 * Paper presented at the 7th CIRIEC International Research Conference on Social Economy "Social and Solidarity Economy: Moving Towards a New Economic System", Bucharest (Romania), 6-9 June 2019. 1 The Open University, Milton Keynes (United Kingdom) (Corresponding author, email: [email protected]). 2 Roskilde University, Roskilde (Denmark). 3 Abstract A recurring theme amongst policymakers and researchers concerned with social innovation is how to increase its social impact, or replicate it elsewhere. This paper draws on the literature to develop a typology of strategies for scaling social impact. It then uses a Danish Case study of an innovative social enterprise to examine the rationale for strategic choices, and issues involved, when the social enterprise ambitiously scales its social impact. This experience also reveals how the strategies evolve over a number of years. Keywords: social innovation, scaling, replication, social impact, social enterprise JEL Code: O35 Social Innovation 4 Introduction A social innovation may be defined as: “A novel solution to a social problem that is more effective, efficient, sustainable, or just than existing solutions and for which the value created accrues primarily to society as a whole rather than private individuals. A social innovation can be a product, production process, or technology (much like innovation in general), but it can also be a principle, an idea, a piece of legislation, a social movement, an intervention, or some combination of them.” Phills, Deiglmeier & Miller (2008).
