SLS NIKE SB WORLD TOUR: MUNICH SCHEDULE

SLS 2016 1 JUNE 24, 2017 OLYMPIC MUNICH ABOUT SLS

Founded by pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek in 2010, Street League (SLS) was created to foster growth, popularity, and acceptance of worldwide. Since then, SLS has evolved to become a platform that serves to excite the skateboarding community, educate both the avid and casual fans, and empower communities through its very own SLS Foundation. In support of SLS’ mission, Nike SB joined forces with SLS in 2013 to create SLS Nike SB World Tour.

In 2014, the SLS Super Crown World Championship became the official street skateboarding world championship series as sanctioned by the International Skateboarding Federation (ISF).

In 2015, SLS announced a long-term partnership with of Tampa (SPoT) to create a premium global qualification system that spans from amateur events to the SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship. The SPoT partnership officially transitions Tampa Pro into becoming the SLS North American Qualifier that gives one non-SLS Pros the opportunity to qualify to the Pro Open and one non-SLS Pro will become part of the 2017 World Tour SLS Pros. Tampa Pro will also serve as a way for current SLS Pros to gain extra championship qualification points to qualify to the Super Crown. SLS is now also the exclusive channel for live streaming of Tampa Pro and Tampa Am. This past March, SLS Picks 2017, Louie Lopez, took the win at Tampa Pro, gaining him the first Golden Ticket of the year straight to Super Crown. Dave Bachinsky skated well enough to secure his spot to be an official SLS Pro in the 2017 season.

Also in 2015, the SLS Nike SB Pro Open in Barcelona, Spain debuted as the first-ever global, independent program on the SLS calendar. 2017 highlights the third year of the SLS Pro Open. This contest serves as the second entry event that introduces two new non-SLS Pros, Dashawn Jordan and Auto Horigome, to compete their way onto the SLS Roster. Like Tampa Pro, current SLS Pros gain extra championship qualification points to qualify to the Super Crown.

SLS introduced a new gateway program with SLS Picks in 2016 – two new Pros, hand picked by SLS and SLS fans, will skate in the 2017 Season. The SLS Picks is being added for Pros that may not skate contests but deliver incredible video parts and raw street skateboarding. SLS Picks 2017 are Louie Lopez and .

As the premier competitive series in skateboarding, the SLS Nike SB World Tour elevates street skateboarding and showcases an international roster of skating’s elite pros as they compete in an easy-to-follow, instant scoring format.

At each stop of the Tour, arenas are transformed into custom concrete skate plazas, challenging the pros to be innovative and take skateboarding to new highs.

The winner of each stop of the Tour, including Tampa Pro, receives a “Golden Ticket” guaranteeing them a spot in the SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship at the Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles, California. Only the most elite eight pros qualify for the final event of the 2017 SLS Nike SB World Tour and only one gets the opportunity to claim the title ‘SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Champion’.

Run Section Score: Each 45-second Run is a combination of several tricks. Each judge assigns a score of 0-10 for each overall Run attempt Best Trick Section Score: Each of the five trick attempts in this section receives a score from 0-10 For each Run and Best Trick attempt, the highest and lowest scores from the judges panel are discarded. The average of the three remaining scores is used to determine the overall score

The top four out of seven scores across both Sections count towards a skaters overall contest score

Maximum score possible is 40

Scores do not carryover from the Prelim Heats to the Final

Highest score from the Final wins the contest

Overall scores from each contest contribute to a skater’s ongoing ranking throughout the Season leading into the SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship

JUDGING CRITERIA All judging is Overall Impression, based on the following criteria: Aggressive execution Degree of difficulty Variety Continuity of run (Run Section) Originality and Style

JUDGING SPECIFICS Greater reward will be given for originality, risk taking and style, thus increasing the ability for a skater to do tricks scored 7.0 or higher as long as the trick demonstrates these characteristics. More common, safer tricks will be scored lower on the scale.

Bailed tricks are scored as a “0” in the Best Tricks Section. Bails during the Run Section run will be factored into the overall score of the run.

REPEATING THE SAME TRICK Run Section: A trick can be repeated; however, repeating a trick within the same run will be seen as lacking “originality” and will typically lower the score for that run.

Best Tricks Section: Repeating tricks that were performed within Run Section runs is allowed; Within Best Tricks Section attempts, repeating already landed tricks is not encouraged. Judges will use the following protocol for scoring repeated tricks:

SLS 2017 9 CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

Final: Start order of the Run Section is determined by the Prelim Heats leaderboard (8th in start order = 1st place from Prelim Heats). Upon conclusion of both Run Section runs, the start list will be re-ordered to reverse the current leaderboard based on the total score of the two runs (8th place in start order for the Best Tricks Section = 1st place on leaderboard after the Run Section).
