John Layman : Batman: Detective Comics Vol. 5: Gothtopia (The New 52) before purchasing it in order to gage whether or not it would be worth my time, and all praised Batman: Detective Comics Vol. 5: Gothtopia (The New 52):

It's about time for a change and hopefully, the new team will create something that's new but still attracts attention. That's what these people are paid for and that's we "the readers" would like to see. It's missing an emotional connection that hooks the reader and doesn't let up throughout the transitions of the plot. The artwork is good but it would be nice to have a plot worth reading for a change.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A Different Batman -- sort of!By D. PanerisPretty good story with a twist! I wish it could've been longer! Pretty good art!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy BuyerAwesome product, Just as expected,

Who--or what--has created the Dark Knight's alternate hometown? This twisted take on Gotham City, written by John Layman () and illustrated by Jason Fabok (BATMAN: ETERNAL), includes the monumental issue DETECTIVE COMICS #27 that celebrates the 75th anniversary of Batman. Collects issues #25-29.
