We are hoping for an invitation from the São Paulo club to visit Next Membership Brazil sometime in 2019. In late June, our club members returned from their journey to Meeting the Southern Oregon FF club, also with broad smiles. Those smiles were all that was needed to prove the success of Save the DATE/TIME both visits. Currently, we are finalizing our upcoming journey to Montreal in September. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE 0F THE STATE OF HAWAII: SECTION l. The legislature finds that Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Juneteenth Independence Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June l9, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas, and more generally, the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate states. At the beginning of 2020, Hawaii was one of only three states that had not recognized Juneteenth as a state holiday or special day of observance. Accordingly, the purpose of this Act is to 10 establish June l9 of each year as a state holiday to be known as ll Juneteenth Day. 12 SECTION 2. Section 8—1, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is 13 amended to read as follows: 14 "§8-1 Holidays designated.
