Seller Insight

Built in 2007, this large and beautifully presented family home forms part of The Manors of Shelsley, an exclusive development of luxury homes that occupies a sought after location in the glorious Worcestershire countryside. “We’ve owned the house from new, and I have to say that there were just so many things that attracted us to it when we initially came across it,” says the owner. “It sits in this very picturesque rural position within a small complex of just eight gorgeous homes so it’s very peaceful here and private, but at the same time we have very supportive and kind neighbours. The house itself is light and airy and incredibly spacious, and it boasts a lovely garden that’s large but easy to maintain.

“The house is modern and very attractive, and each room is nicely proportioned, well lit, warm and cosy, and the finish throughout is second to none. Modern features include the integrated surround sound throughout the downstairs for theatre TV or playing music, and the built-in high-end coffee machine in the kitchen. In fact, that was something else that drew us to the property, the fact that it’s clear to see that it has been designed and built to an incredibly high standard. Externally, the developers used a mix of brick and stone so it fits really nicely within its countryside surroundings, and internally, although it’s very much a modern home designed for modern living, little touches such as the solid oak floors, doors and staircase bannisters, and the beautiful fireplace in the sitting room, add that little bit of character. For us it’s been the perfect family home.”

“The property boasts a lovely south facing garden which we’ve had professionally designed and landscaped. The snug, kitchen and main sitting room all have doors that open out onto a large patio area, which is perfect for gatherings, and there are two further raised patio areas at the back of the garden. During the summer months the whole space is bathed in sunshine, and due to the main patio being in the crook of the L-shaped house it’s always warm and very sheltered. It’s a great garden for the family, and perfect for parties and gatherings right through from spring to autumn, and it’s something that I’m going to miss when we leave.”

“Our favourite room is definitely what’s classed as the ‘family room’ but we call the snug. It’s at the back of the property, hidden away as the house is on a slight incline, so it’s essentially nestled into the back of the garden and therefore quiet and very private. Because the side of the room facing the sun is mainly glass it’s always warm, and it is positioned next to the kitchen which is handy for snacks and drinks. It is the perfect room for hiding out with a good book!”

“It’s lovely to be in such a picturesque rural spot, near lots of footpaths for long countryside walks, and there’s an array of pretty hamlets to explore. However, we’re also just half an hour from Worcester city centre and we benefit from excellent transport links so it’s relatively easy to get just about anywhere.”

“Another great space is the attic. The whole floor has been converted and consists of a large en- suite bedroom as well as another room where we have armchairs and a TV. It’s ideal for guests, and has also been used as a gym and a yoga studio as it’s beautifully bright up there.”

“We’ll be sad to leave the house because it’s been a really wonderful home, but it’s the location that I think we’ll miss the most,” says the owner. “We will miss the beautiful skies at night, the peaceful bucolic setting and being close to the small local farm shops where you can buy strawberries and raspberries picked that morning, and some of the freshest, tastiest veg. We’ll also miss the simple pleasures, such as taking walks in The Teme Valley where the air always smells so clean.”*
