The order will be shipped upon completion. RETURNS – CREDITS – ALLOWANCES: Merchandise may not be returned without a return authorization (RA#). No credits or allowances will be given for repairs etc. without our written approval. LOST OR DAMAGED MERCHANDISE: Our furniture is packed in accordance with specifications established for furniture moving in interstate commerce. GENERAL INFORMATION GENERAL All merchandise is shipped F.O.B. factory – our responsibility ceases when goods are received “in good order” by the transportation company, and all claims for freight overcharge, loss in transit must be handled by the carrier. The bill of lading is an acknowledgement by the transportation company of receipt in good condition of the shipment covered by our invoice. If any of the goods called for on the bill are short or damaged, do not accept them until the freight agent makes a damaged and/or shortage notation on your freight bill. Claims for damage must be filed within ten days of delivery. Be sure the furniture is unpacked, inspected, all carton and or/wrapping saved within this time to have a valid claim. If your shipment consists of more than one carton and the carrier fails to deliver all items, have the agent make a shortage notation on your freight bill before signing it or paying freight. If any concealed loss or damage is discovered as the shipment is inspected, notify your local agent at once and ask him to make an inspection. (Friction rubs, cracked bases, broken leg/arm, bent control mechanisms are examples of concealed damage.) Filing Claims – you must file the claim directly with the carrier within 10 working days from receipt of the furniture – the manufacturer is not responsible for filing claims – we will assist you if needed. To file a claim you need a copy of your invoice, bill of lading, and freight bill received copy. DO NOT DESTROY YOUR CARTONS. FREIGHT CLASSIFICATIONS: Sofas, loveseats, recliners, chairs, and slippers Class #175 Small chairs Class #150 Ottomans Class # 85 PREPAID SHIPMENTS/DROP SHIP DELIVERIES: To defray the additional cost involved in processing prepay and add shipments, a service charge of $80.00 per order is applied. This is in addition to any and all applicable freight charges. The carrier will add a Drop Shipment/Home Delivery/non dock charge to your freight bill. A residence or business phone must appear on all orders to enable the carrier to contact the consignee to ascertain delivery, otherwise the shipment could be subject to storage charges or return freight charges if not deliverable. DIMENSIONS – MANUFACTURING SPECIFICATIONS: All dimensions indicated in our catalog are to the nearest inch. This, plus varying thickness of the covering material and the individual technique of each craftsman, account for a variation in dimensions from 1-2″. Also keep in mind that our product is hand made and minor variations do occur. If specific dimensions must be met, notation of this must be made on purchase order. Manufacturer reserves the right to change specifications without notification to customers if it is necessary because of availability of raw materials, change in design, or change necessary to meet quality standards. PRIORITY SHIPPING 10% upcharge for priority shipping. Call customer service for availability of materials for quotation of delivery date that closely accommodates your needs. If we fail to meet the acknowledged shipping date we will refund the upcharge. Refund will not apply if carrier fails to meet your required date. 2 CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS INFORMATION GENERAL FRAMES: Solidly built 5/4 (1-1/8″) kiln-dried hardwood and engineered hardwoods. All frame joints are double doweled or mortise and tenoned, corner blocked, glued and screwed for extra strength, and durability. All items with exposed stretchers are doweled, glued and screwed. FINISH: Leathercraft uses a 12-step finish process on our exposed maple. Note the depth and clarity which is indicative of quality finishes. Three coats of lacquer are then applied. SPRINGS: Tempered high-carbon double cone coil springs are matched to each style to provide the best possible seating. These coil springs are eight-way tied and secured to polypropylene sheeting which is reinforced with steel bands. These steel bands run from rail to back rail and from side to side. You get added resilience, greater comfort and noise free performance. Where the design of the items does not permit the use of eight-way hand tied coil springs, the finest Pirelli (Standard) Resilient Rubber Webbing or sinuous springs are used. This rubber webbing is laced from front rail to back rail, from side rail to side rail and securely attached to each for a deep comfortable seating platform. PADDING: All platforms are padded with a layer of insulated deck cover, followed by a blanket of cotton for comfort and durability. Backs and arms are covered with cotton felt and urethane foam to provide a firm smooth padding under the leather, vinyl or COM covering. Back construction varies as dictated by styling. INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION 3 CUSHIONS Comfort is ultimately defined by personal preference. That’s why we offer so many seat cushion options. Most of our seating styles are standard with either Spring Poly Dacron or Feather and Fiber seat cushions. Please review the following illustrations for construction specifications for our cushions. These methods of making apparel fabrics are length and costly. However, because of the advancements in nonwoven technology, nonwoven fabrics are finding a niche market in the clothing industry because of its cost effectiveness and high speeds of nonwoven production processes. We have carried out an extensive study on the development of apparel- like nonwoven fabrics. The resultant fabric showed improved drape, hand, durability and thermophysiological comfort characteristics than the reference samples for apparel applications. Results of the study also showed that the developed nonwoven fabrics showed nearly 200% higher tensile strength than the reference nonwoven fabrics. Furthermore, it also showed improved air permeability, for example, the resultant nonwoven fabric exhibited 500% higher air permeability value as compared with the Evolon fabric at 100 Pa pressure. Thus the results of the study indicate that the resultant nonwoven fabrics may be used in a wide range of apparel applications, which can lead to additional benefits in terms of cost and time.

Q: What was the general state of environmental awareness when you started at Knoll in 1978? LN: The focus, in industry, was on chemistry and functionality. If heavy metals like lead and cadmium offered good color, you used them without a second thought. If Compound X removed grease, you used Compound XX to remove it even better. Almost no one was looking at the silent environmental and health effects. Q: Where did you start to implement change? LN: I was trained as a chemist, so we started with a detoxification program – getting rid of some chemical processes and materials that were very toxic. As time went on, we screened our products to make sure that when we took toxic chemicals out we didn’t use something else that put them back in.

Seldom frays at the needle eye. Bonded finish increases consistency and reduces machine tension adjustments. Nylon #69 Bonded: Designed for medium to heavy upholstery fabric, plastic, tarpaulin, and leather. High tensile strength and abrasion resistance. Not recommended for outdoor use. Tenara: Proven to be unaffected by exposure to UV radiation, cleaning agents, pollution, saltwater, air, rain and snow. Worth the extra expense if working in warmer climates or leaving canvas projects outside year round. Sailrite recommends using a #14 or #16 needle with regular Tenara thread or a #19 or #20 with Heavy Tenara thread. Monofilament: Used primarily in upholstery work.
