Emergency Contact Numbers Card

Please Note: It is mandatory for all UCC students on the Greece service trip to carry with them at all times the Emergency Contact Numbers Card which includes the cell phone numbers of Mr. McCubbin and Ms. Scott and the service team participants, all the hotels’ addresses and telephone numbers and the European/Greece emergency number. Students are encouraged to purchase a 20 minute international roaming package from their mobile phone provider to avoid incurring excessive charges on their cell phone bills.

(Historical) Fiction Gates of Fire is a 1998 historical fiction novel by Steven Pressfield that recounts the Battle of Thermopylae through Xeones, a Spartan Perioikoi and the sole Greek survivor of the battle.

Captain Corelli's Mandolin, is a 1994 novel by British writer Louis de Bernières that is set on the Greek island of Cephallonia (Kefalonia) during the Italian and German occupation of World War II.

Zorba the Greek, is a novel written by the Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis, first published in 1946.
