FROM CDC The United States is experiencing an early influenza season, with activity elevated nationally and continued increases being reported in this week’s FluView (http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/). The proportion of visits to doctors for influenza-like illness (ILI) has been elevated for four consecutive weeks. High levels of influenza activity are being reported in all but one region of the United States. However, a few states [including Guam, Ed.] have yet to see significant increases in activity. So far this season, most (91%) of the influenza viruses that have been antigenically characterized are like the viruses in the 2012-2013 influenza vaccine. People who have not already gotten a flu vaccine this season should do so now. It is not too late to get vaccinated to protect you and your family against influenza.
