The season has certainly been an intense one! In this message, I have chosen to focus on the positive and impressive Region 2 accomplishments at regional and national levels. There will always be problems to solve…tonight is a time of CELEBRATION!

I want to congratulate all the regional winners for a great 2011-2012 season. Throughout the region, I notice positive signage on the cat cages and positive interaction with those attending our shows as spectators and first time / new exhibitors. Over the course of the last year, I have seen a turn in the focus of my private email from spectators. Before, people were wishing resolution to a negative occurrence …now they are expressing how wonderful the interactions at the show made them feel. A giant THANK YOU to each and every one of you that made this possible. The Pet Me cats have created many smiles and the Ambassador cats continue to amaze the crowds. Children participating in the Feline Youth Education Project (formerly Junior Showmanship) have worked extremely hard this year and we have three young people eligible for regional recognition and in contention for those sought-after savings bonds awarded at the national level. The winners of the national competition will be announced at the Annual.

Exhibitors from Region 2 accounted for multiple national wins in all classes and activities. Kelloggs Cattery obtained four national winners this season – congratulations to Heinrich and Carly! Region 2 cats have three national winners in Premiership, three national winners in Championship and three national winners in Kitten Class. Agility rings have been busy and four of our top five regional Agility winners are also national winners. A Region 2 cat is Best Cat in Agility!

Whether you have chosen to grand a cat, or show for a regional/national goal, your participation and support of Region 2 is appreciated. We span a huge amount of territory and don’t have the most shows or the highest concentration of fanci- ers. What we DO have is a dedicated group of people who do all they can for each and every show! We have the best CHEERLEADERS for our shows and our region shines in the areas of recognition for our Household Pet and Veteran communities. We are leading the way for these cats and all involved with these projects are to be applauded…we are fulfilling the CFA mission for the welfare of all cats!

This next year is especially significant for Region 2 as we are hosting the Annual Delegates’ Meeting and Awards Ban- quet. Fund-raising is key to making this event a “showcase” for our beautiful, friendly and vast region. Pam Moser is chairing this event and I have full faith in Pam and her committee to produce a memorable event! Please do what you can to support this project!
