Assistant Editor Susan McCloskey '94 's commitment to quality health care goes back more than 150 years. The founders of Saint Xavier University, the Editorial Support Kate Lorenz Sisters of Mercy, went on to start Chicago's first Catholic hospital, and Bill Britt Saint Xavier later established the first collegiate nursing program in Stephanie Fordice Illinois. Mr. Podesta accepted an invitation from Dr. Judith Hiltner, Director of Saint Xavier University's Honors Program, to be this year's Honors Program Guest Lecturer. Mr. Podesta delivered the lecture on February 8 in McGuire Hall. The Honors Program at Saint Xavier University offers an enriched academic experience to talented and highly motivated students. New Committees Formed SXU's Board of Trustees recently restructured its committees in order to focus more effectively and efficiently on the University's needs. The Programs and Standards Committee reviews policies, programs, standards, and services concerning academic affairs, enrollment and student management. The Committee on Assets helps preserve and extend the tangible resources which support the University's mission, including buildings, budgets, and the endowment. The Committee on Trusteeship is responsible for the composition and quality of the Board, and for ensuring that those nominated to receive University awards are worthy of recognition.
