Tim was elected to the Victorian Parliament in 2006 and is the state member for Werribee. Tim previously served in the Bracks and Brumby Governments as Minister for Roads and Ports, and later added Major Projects to his responsibilities. He was also previously Minister for Resources in the first term of the Andrews Labor Government, overseeing a period of significant growth in that sector. Tim’s first budget as Treasurer in May 2015 delivered the biggest education budget and investment in public transport in the State’s history. His second budget in April 2016 included the single biggest school capital investment in Victoria’s history as well as the new Metro Tunnel. His third budget in May 2017 included an unprecedented $1.9 billion investment to address family violence. The 2018/19 Victorian Budget focused on continued jobs growth, investment in major projects and the Free TAFE initiative. The 2019/20 Budget delivered a suburban transport blitz, universal three-year- old kinder, and the solar homes initiative, while maintaining a strong and steady economic approach. The Victorian Budget 2020/21 – his sixth – invested an unprecedented $49 billion to rebuild Victoria and ensure Victorians remain at the heart of recovery, supporting massive jobs growth and delivering the infrastructure that communities want and need. Tim studied Arts/Law at the Australian National University prior to taking up roles with the Federal Firefighters Union and the Storemen and Packers Union. He still holds a legal practising certificate and is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He later served as Assistant Secretary of the ACTU before taking up a position as Chief of Staff to Premier Steve Bracks. facilitator Jason Kambovski Global Head of Public Sector, Westpac Institutional Bank Jason has worked in the financial services sector for over 25 years. Prior to joining Westpac’s Public Sector Team in 2013, Jason worked with the Commonwealth Bank as Head of Government, having helped establish the Bank’s Government Group in 2002. Prior to this, Jason worked with Perpetual Trustees in legal and investment advisory roles for five years, and also worked for Deloitte for three years in their Business Services and Taxation Group. As Westpac Institutional Bank’s Global Head of Public Sector, Jason leads a team of specialised banking professionals who service the needs of Commonwealth, State/Territory, and Local Governments, including, Inner Budget Departments and Agencies, Statutory Authorities, State-Owned Corporations, Government Business Enterprises, Universities, TAFEs and Port Authorities. Whilst his role is principally focused on the Australasian market, Jason also covers all of Westpac’s international public sector activities. Jason is currently a Non-Executive Director of South East Water and Iota Pty Ltd. He has previously been a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee of Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority. Jason has a LLB, BCom, is an Associate member of the Australian Society of CPAs, an Affiliate member of the Law Institute of Victoria and a Graduate of the AICD. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia and a Graduate Member of AICD. Jim has 30 years’ experience throughout the Group’s operations in Australia, Asia, New Zealand/Pacific and the Middle East. During that time, he has led the group’s specialist businesses in mechanical, building and pipelines, before assuming the leadership role of McConnell Dowell – Australia in 2016.
