OFFICERS

Bette M. Simmons, Ed.D. - Chair

Dr. Bette M. Simmons is a lifelong resident of . She attended the Morris Public School District, graduating from . She attended Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, pursuing a baccalaureate degree in Spanish and French, with a minor in sociology. Dr. Simmons earned a master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services Program from Montclair State University and a Doctorate of Education from .

Currently, Dr. Simmons is the vice president of Student Development and Enrollment Management at County College of Morris. She has held this position for the past 12 years, after having had various administrative positions over the course of her 38-year career with the college. Additionally, she is an adjunct faculty member at , teaching doctoral-level courses for the College of Education and Administrative Services.

Dr. Simmons is very active in the Morris County community. In addition to Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, she is involved with the African American Wellness Coalition, the Building Cross Cultural Communities Committee, the Morris County Human Relations Commission, Preschool Advantage, and the Morris County Park Alliance. She was recently appointed to the Governor's Task Force on Campus Sexual Assault. On a national level, she serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) as well serves as chair of the NASPA Foundation Board.

Krista Korinis - Secretary

Krista Korinis is the President of Global Installation Resources, LLC, a woman owned and operated union installation company specializing in office furniture, demountable walls, signage and laboratory case work installations, and a wide variety of project management services.

Global Installation Resources, LLC is a certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE), and in 2011, obtained WBENC certification for national recognition as a minority business. Ms. Korinis helps her clients find cost- effective installation solutions through expertly managed relationships with unions and their members.

As a proud minority business owner, Ms. Korinis is an active member of Collaborative Women in Construction (CWC), Women President Educational Organization (WPEO), and the Morris County Chamber of Commerce. She just completed her second term on the Board of Directors for CREW NJ (Commercial Real Estate Women of New Jersey).

Her vision as an entrepreneur was recognized in 2014 when she received the Leading Women Entrepreneur Top 25 Award, in 2015 as the face of The Limited’s “New Look of Leadership” national campaign,” and in 2017 as a SmartCeo Brava NJ honoree.

Ms. Korinis is currently serving as a member at large on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey and a member of the Fund Development Committee. Ms. Korinis earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Bryant University. She resides in Wyckoff, New Jersey with her husband Justin and son Nixon.

MEMBERS-AT-LARGE

Helen Appleby

Helen Appleby is a British NJ/NYC-based Executive Coach and Women’s Leadership Trainer who has a strong track record of leadership and commercial success.

Prior to becoming a full-time coach, Ms. Appleby was a VP & Global Business Leader for GlaxoSmithKline where she led the $1 billion Respiratory Health business in Consumer Healthcare. Her career at GSK and Unilever spanned six countries and she has lived and worked in Canada, the UK, Cyprus, Dubai, Malaysia, and the USA.

Ms. Appleby is the author of the upcoming book “The Unwritten Rules of Women’s Leadership” to be published in summer 2018.

She is a resident of Mountain Lakes and currently serves as a member at large of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey Board of Directors and as a member of the Board Development Committee. She is fantastic shopper, an average yogi, and a terrible cook.

Shacara N. Delgado

Shacara N. Delgado is a Senior Vice President in the legal department of Realogy Holdings Corp., headquartered in Madison, New Jersey. She manages the company’s Employment, Benefits and Contractor Relations Law Group.

Prior to joining Realogy Holdings Corp., Ms. Delgado worked as an employment and commercial litigation attorney in various private law firms in New York City and New Jersey. She is admitted to practice law before the New York and New Jersey state courts, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Southern District Court of New York, the Eastern District Court of New York and the District Court of New Jersey.

Ms. Delgado is a Trustee for Tri-County Scholarship Fund, is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, and is a host parent for the Fresh Air Fund. She previously served on the Advisory Council for the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms, and recently served as Vice President of the Morristown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Ms. Delgado is also a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations Citizens Academy.

In 2016, Ms. Delgado was named among the list of 25 Influential Black Women in Business by The Network Journal magazine and named as one of the Top Influential Women in Corporate America by Savoy magazine. In 2017, Ms. Delgado received the distinguished Woman of Achievement Award from Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey. Recently, Ms. Delgado was elected to serve on the Board of Executive Women of New Jersey.

Ms. Delgado received her Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.

Matthew Lamb, Pharm. D, R.PH. Matthew Lamb is Global Head, Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs – Inflammation and Immunology at Celgene Corporation. He has 19 years experience in global pharmaceutical development in the disciplines of clinical pharmacology and regulatory affairs. Prior to Celgene Corporation, Matthew worked for Warner Chilcott Company, LLC and Hoffman-LaRoche. He attended Philadelphia College of Pharmacy of Science, where he earned his undergraduate degree and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Matthew conducted his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy and Quintiles, Inc. He is a licensed pharmacist in the State of New Jersey. Matthew is a resident of Washington Township, Morris County. He strongly believes there is no more important mission then building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Delia Blackler Perretta

Delia Blackler Perretta recently accepted a position as the content coordinator for Wyckoff Living, a publication owned by Best Vision Media. Before moving to New Jersey, she worked at Good Housekeeping where she edited the Peggy Post etiquette column and created print and online consumer guides.

Ms. Perretta has also worked as a newspaper reporter, and since moving to the Garden State has penned a number of consumer service articles for The Record. She has co-edited books including “The Preppy Cookbook: Classic Recipes for the Modern Prep” by Chef Christine Nunn.

Ms. Perretta earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She lives in Wyckoff, NJ, with her husband, Stephen, and her two children, Eric and Josie. Josie is a Girl Scout and proudly earned her Girl Scout Bronze Award last year.

Lori Pimenta

As an Area Sales Manager for UPS, Lori Pimenta manages a $65M sales territory. She is responsible for the retention and growth of her sales territory. Her focus is on deepening customer relationships through an expanded offering of supply chain and technology-based solutions.

Ms. Pimenta has served as chair, first vice chair, and member at large on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey. She is currently a member of the Fund Development Committee. She is also a board member at the Greater Morristown YMCA, working closely with the Board Chair on the continued success of the day cares managed under the YMCA. Ms. Pimenta is an active volunteer for Susan G. Komen North Jersey Affiliate. She served as Co-Chair for the Logistics of the 2018 Pink Tie Ball and served as the Morris County Ambassador for the 2012 Race for the Cure.

Ms. Pimenta resides in Morris Township with her husband, Paul, and their two dogs. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from AIU.

BOARD DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Elisa Buckley Elisa Buckley is the Senior Project Manager, Certified Ecologist Environmental Remedial Investigations and Ecological Evaluations at Langan Engineering. As Senior Project Manager, Elisa Buckley has provided over eighteen years of technical project support for due diligence, various remedial investigations, and ecological evaluations. Her responsibilities include Phase I ESAs, work plan design, coordination, implementation, field sampling, and reporting. Ms. Buckley’s environmental investigative experience includes, but is not limited to, petroleum spill sites, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, Brownfield redevelopment sites, and landfills. She has authored ecological evaluations and work plans in accordance with US EPA and NJDEP guidelines, all of which have been approved and implemented. She is well versed in managing analytical data for reporting and statistical analysis, and has been trained to conduct wetland delineations. Ms. Buckley is a member of the Board of Directors of CREW NJ (Commercial Real Estate Women of New Jersey). She earned her bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management Engineering at the University of Connecticut. She is being honored by Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey as the 2018 Elinor J. Ferdon Young Woman of Promise.

Delia Blackler Perretta

GIRL REPRESENTATIVES TO THE BOARD Filling 1-Year Term

Julia Helliesen

Julia Helliesen, of Mountain Lakes, is a junior at Montclair Kimberely Academy. A Gold Award Girl Scout, Ms. Helliesen has been a Girl Scout for 12 years. She also earned her Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards and was recognized with the Prudential Spirit of Community Award and the Presidential Service Award.

At her school, she serves as the editor-in-chief of the yearbook. She writes a blog “Humans of MKA” to help connect the students in her high school community. She also writes for both of her school newspapers and serves as the photo and layout editor of one of them.

Ms. Helliesen represents Montclair Kimberley Academy on the Junior Board of Overlook Medical Center, where she works with a team of twelve other high school juniors from schools in northern New Jersey. The Junior Board writes a grant and procures funds for an area of need at the hospital. In addition, she also represented her school as a delegate at the University of Pennsylvania’s Ivy League Model United Nations conference.

Alyssa Okun

Alyssa Okun, of Wayne, is a junior at Wayne Valley High School. At her school, she is the Girls Volleyball Manager, a We Act Club member, a Future Business Leaders of America member, and an Alps Leader (teacher’s assistant in physical education). She is a member of the National Honor Society.

A member of Girl Scouts for twelve years, Ms. Okun has earned her Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards and is currently working on her Girl Scout Gold Award.

Ms. Okun is very interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and plans to become an engineer. She also loves art, writing poetry, and playing the trumpet and ukulele. She has been a dancer at Stepping Out School of Dance for the past 11 years.

Anjali Patel

Anjali Patel, of Englewood, is a junior at Academies at Englewood. She has been a Girl Scout for nine years and has earned her Girl Scout Silver Award. She is currently working on earning the Girl Scout Gold Award.

Ms. Patel loves to swim, dance, and run cross-country. She has been swimming since she was 3 years old, and now enjoys teaching other children to swim. She also volunteers at her Indian School and participates in the food drive there.

“Being a part of Girl Scouts has not only been a privilege, but a priceless journey for me as well. I have been given the opportunity to take part in many activities and events that have changed my life,” Ms. Patel says.

MEMBER-AT-LARGE Filling Unexpired Term

Joanne Morreale

As Vice President for the Global Enterprise Applications team, Joanne Morreale is responsible for leading the application teams working on new project initiatives for Wyndham associates all over the world. Ms. Morreale arrived at Cendant in 2002, and became a Wyndham associate when the company spun off in 2006. In 2014, she was the recipient of the highest and most prestigious award at Wyndham Worldwide, the Chairman’s Count On Me! Award presented by Chairman and CEO Steve Holmes.

Ms. Morreale has a passion to mentor and inspire others. In 2016, she led the Women in Technology mentor circle comprised of 12 women leaders at varying levels of their career, dedicated to STEM, and has continued to provide one-on-one mentoring to others inside and outside the company. Additionally, she is a member of the Women On Their Way Associate Business Group, which is an internal resource group focused on women’s business and community advancement, where she serves as Business Initiatives Committee Chair.

Ms. Morreale and her husband, Mike, have two beautiful daughters, Erica and Katie. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping for bargains, wine tasting, and enjoying time with her family. She has served as a member at large of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey since the fall of 2017.

Jonathan D. Nguyen

Jonathan Nguyen represents PNC’s Corporate & Institutional Bank as a Treasury Management Officer. He has dedicated 17 years of his career to the financial industry.

Mr. Nguyen currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County and Hometown Heroes. He graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a history degree (East Asia concentration), and grew up in Queens and Long Island, New York.

He has been serving as a member at large of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey Board of Directors since fall of 2017.

Mr. Nguyen is recently married and enjoys golf.

Jillian Warner

Jillian Warner is currently a Program Manager at the Harris Corporation in Clifton, New Jersey supervising approximately 15 managers and a $74,000,000 budget. She has previous experience at Toys R Us and BAE Systems, is a graduate of Stevens Institute with a master’s degree in Engineering Management, and earned her undergraduate degree at Tufts University in Computer Engineering.

Ms. Warner has Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification, Project Management Professional Certification, and is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Pi Theta Omega Chapter.

She is a former Girl Scout and is interested in serving on the board of directors as a way to give back and empower girls and young women, especially as a role model in STEM. She has been a member at large of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey Board of Directors since February 2018.
