Officers of the Board

Bette M. Simmons, Ed.D. Dr. Simmons earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and French at Thiel College, a master’s degree in Counseling from Montclair State University and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from . She began her professional higher education experience in 1980 by accepting a position at County College of Morris. Since being at the college, Dr. Simmons steadily advanced professionally as she held positions as Counselor, Assistant to the President & Affirmative Action Officer, Assistant Dean of Student Development, Dean of Student Development, and her current position of Vice President of Student Development & Enrollment Management. Dr. Simmons is very active in the Morris County community. In addition to Girl Scouts of Northern , she is involved with Preschool Advantage, the Morris County Human Relations Commission, the African American Wellness Coalition, the Morris County Park Alliance, and the Morris County Sexual Assault Advisory Board. Additionally, she was appointed to the Governor’s Task Force on Campus Sexual Assault, representing New Jersey’s community colleges in developing statewide recommendations for how colleges and universities address this national issue. She has taught graduate level courses in the Doctoral Program of Educational Leadership at , the Masters’ Program of Supervision, Leadership & Administration at Seton Hall University, and has been a guest lecturer in the Board Leadership Institute at Seton Hall as well as in the Student Affairs in Higher Education Program at Montclair State University. Dr. Simmons has served on three doctoral dissertation committees. Recently, she was appointed to the New Jersey City University Community College Leadership Program Advisory Board and serves as a mentor to several of the doctoral candidates in this program. Krista Korinis Krista Korinis is the President of Global Installation Resources, LLC, a woman owned and operated union installation company specializing in office furniture, demountable walls, signage and laboratory case work installations and a wide variety of project management services. Global Installation Resources, LLC is a certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE) & Small Business Enterprise (SBE), and in 2011 obtained WBENC Certification for national recognition as a minority business. Ms. Korinis helps her clients find cost-effective installation solutions through expertly managed relationships with unions and their members. As a proud minority business owner, Ms. Korinis is an active member of Collaborative Women in Construction (CWC), Women President Educational Organization (WPEO), the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, and just completed her second term on the Board of Directors for CREW NJ (Commercial Real Estate Women of New Jersey). Her vision as an entrepreneur was recognized in 2014 when she received the Leading Women Entrepreneur Top 25 Award, in 2015 as the face of The Limited’s “New Look of Leadership” national campaign,” and in 2017 as a SmartCeo Brava NJ honoree. In 2018, she was honored at CREWNJ’s 35 Anniversary Gala for her contributions to the organization and the advancement of women in commercial real estate. Ms. Korinis currently serves Secretary on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey and Chair of the Fund Development Committee. Earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Bryant University, Ms. Korinis resides in Wyckoff with her husband Justin and son. Jill Andersen Jill Andersen is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Oyster Point Pharma. She is a senior pharmaceutical executive recognized for business acumen, enterprise mindset, integrity, and sustained risk mitigation. Prior to working at Oyster Point Pharma, she was the Vice President, Legal Head, Inflammation and Immunology, for Celgene/Bristol Meyers Squibb Company. Born and raised in New Jersey, she has lived in Morris County for the past 18 years, during which her two daughters were part of the GSNNJ family. She has over 20 years of legal experience in the pharmaceutical industry, government, and private practice. Prior to entering the legal profession, she was an analyst at Chase Bank. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Boston College and a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University, School of Law. Currently serving as a member at large on the GSNNJ Board of Directors, Ms. Andersen is also a member of the GSNNJ Finance Committee.

Delia Blacker Perretta Delia Blackler Perretta is a freelance writer. In addition to serving on the GSNNJ Board, she is the Vice President of the Woodlea/Zoe’s Place Advisory Council for Children’s Aid and Family Services. She is also a sustainer in the Junior League of Bergen County. Before moving to New Jersey, she worked at Good Housekeeping where she edited the Peggy Post etiquette column and created print and online consumer guides. She has also worked as a newspaper reporter, and since moving to the Garden State has penned a number of consumer service articles for The Record. She has co-edited books including “The Preppy Cookbook: Classic Recipes for the Modern Prep” by Chef Christine Nunn. Ms. Blacker Perretta earned a bachelors in English from Boston College and masters in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She lives in Wyckoff, NJ, with her husband, Stephen, and her two children, Josie and Eric. Josie is a Girl Scout and proudly earned her Girl Scout Silver Award. Lynn Gregorski Lynn Gregorski is the President of Rapunzel Creative Marketing Agency, a state certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE). She is a strategic and brand marketer and has a passion for helping businesses translate value propositions and goals into a compelling identity. Ms. Gregorski was the co-founder and former president of Shelter for Pets, a volunteer nonprofit organization with a mission to foster pets of domestic violence survivors. She served as a volunteer president of Halfway Hounds canine rescue which provides a second chance to shelter dogs with behavior issues. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Syracuse University in TV, Film and Radio and has professional certification from Cornell University Institute for Nonprofit Management. Ms. Gregorski is also a Six Sigma Green Belt, Dale Carnegie Instructor, and a volunteer with Bergen County CART (County Animal Response Team). Girl Scouts was a big part of her life growing up and her mom was her leader. She would love to give back to the organization by serving on the board of directors.

Matthew Lamb, Pharm. D, R.PH. Matthew Lamb is Vice President, Regulatory Therapeutic Area Head – Immunology, Neuroscience and Fibrosis at Bristol Myers Squibb. He has over 20 years of experience in global pharmaceutical development in the disciplines of clinical pharmacology and regulatory affairs. Prior to Bristol Myers Squibb, he worked for Celgene Corporation, Warner Chilcott Company, and Hoffman- LaRoche. Mr. Lamb attended Philadelphia College of Pharmacy of Science, where he earned his undergraduate degree and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. He conducted his post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy and Quintiles, Inc. He is a licensed pharmacist in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Lamb is a resident of Washington Township, Morris County. He strongly believes there is no more important mission than building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Joseph Pennisi Joe Pennisi is Vice President of Technology Operations for Fiserv, Card Services. He is responsible for the Application Support and Technology Operations for the diverse Card Services portfolios that include Debit, Credit, Risk, and Digital applications that Clients and their Card holders depend on. He has over 20 years in executive roles within the Fortune 500, Pharmaceutical, Marketing/Media, Insurance, and Financial Services industries managing technologists focused on creatively leveraging strategic technologies, industry standard tools, processes, and methodologies to increase the bottom line. Mr. Pennisi holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Computer Science from . He has an avid interest in volunteering with many organizations including Girl Scouts, Little League, Unico, and recreational sports organizations. With the Girl Scouts, he worked with a group of local Girl Scout volunteers to staff multiple Yankee Stadium concession stands for a full season. Germaine Lacqua Germaine Lacqua is the Vice President, US Commercial Compliance, at AbbVie. She is a biopharmaceutical executive leader with a passion for people and culture. Ms. Lacqua has a reputation for transforming existing models and innovating new methods to gain a competitive advantage. Areas of expertise include embedding compliance into business practices and positioning compliance as a business partner by employing a collaborative approach. She is skilled in developing and implementing solutions, driving results, and executing on strategic goals. Ms. Lacqua is a Professional Certified Coach with a passion for personal development, women and girls’ empowerment, and organizational growth. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Connecticut and resides in Bergen County with her family, including a Girl Scout Daisy.

Nashira Layade Nashira Layade is Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer at Realogy Holding Corp. She has over 20 years’ experience as a thought leader in Information Security, Data Privacy, and Risk Management for Fortune 500 firms in the financial services and media sectors. Her expertise includes creating and implementing global information security and risk management strategies, policies and controls, to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise IT systems and data. She always wanted to be a Girl Scout but didn’t have the opportunity. She had many friends who were Girl Scouts, and it played a big part in transforming them and shaping different aspects of their lives. Ms. Layade is an advocate and mentor of girls and women on their academic path and professional career journey. She currently serves on the Junior Achievement of New Jersey North board. She has also served on the board of the YMCA of Greater New York, Jamaica YMCA; as a mentor with iMentor and as a Strategic Partner-Jayne K. Campbell Committee Chairman for the Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. Ms. Layade earned a Master’s of Science degree in Engineering: Telecommunications Networking from New York University-Polytechnic School of Engineering and a Bachelors of Applied Science degree, Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Nikki Sumpter, SPHR, SCP Nikki Sumpter is Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Atlantic Health System (AHS). A forward-thinking leader celebrated for inspiring positive change and engagement across large health care system, Ms. Sumpter and her team are devoted to encouraging the alignment and development of AHS caregivers; promoting health and wellness; fostering diversity and inclusion; and extending system initiatives connected to sustainability, charitable giving, and community involvement. Recently, Ms. Sumpter was honored as a 2020 Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey Woman of Achievement. She was honored in 2018 with the Great Place to Work for All Leadership Award, designed to recognize the integral strategic and cultural influence of talented women leaders from Fortune 100-recognized organizations. Prior to joining Atlantic Health, Ms. Sumpter served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Learning at JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas. Ms. Sumpter and JPS were honored with a Press Ganey Commitment to Excellence Award for Employee Engagement for their successful redesign of employee recognition, benefit plans, and workforce and leadership development programs. While with the organization, she was named a Most Powerful Businesswoman by the National Diversity Council and Texas Diversity Magazine, and JPS was recognized by the Dallas Morning News as a Top 100 employer. Ms. Sumpter earned a master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Management from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Morris-Sussex-Warren Workforce Development Board and Cornerstone Family Programs.

Divina E. Lopez, M.D. Dr. Divina E. Lopez is a Board-Certified Pediatrician currently serving as a Field Doctor, Bureau of School Health, for the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. She enjoys teaching and is always enthusiastic about sharing her unique approach to caring for children and recently launched a podcast, Dancing into Parenthood. Dr. Lopez completed her Internship and Residency at the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, earned her Medical Degree at Ross University Medical Center, Dominica, West Indies, and her Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University in Queens, New York. As a volunteer, she is the Medical Director to the Hungry Monk Food Truck project, which serves the homeless population in New York City. Dr. Lopez volunteers for the Wyckoff Heights Health Fair and the Nassau University Medical Center Health Fair. A Bergen County resident, she loves to travel, try new foods, and dance. Board Development Committee

Elisa Buckley Elisa Buckley is the Principal, Managing Director of Walsh Environmental Solutions and specializes in Environmental Due Diligence, Investigations, and Ecological Evaluations. Her career started when she earned her bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management and Engineering at University of Connecticut. In Connecticut she worked with the CT DEP to track wood turtles and their urban and suburban habitats. Ms. Buckley has over twenty years of technical experience from various simple and complex property transactions, remedial investigations and ecological evaluations. Her environmental investigative experience includes, but is not limited to, petroleum spill sites, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, Brownfield redevelopment sites, and landfills. She has authored ecological evaluations and work plans in accordance with US EPA and NJDEP guidelines, rules, and regulations, all of which have been approved and implemented. She is well versed in managing analytical data for reporting and statistical analysis and has been trained to conduct wetland delineations. Ms. Buckley is an active member in her network by being a Past President and member of the Board of Directors of CREWNJ (Commercial Real Estate Women of New Jersey) and a member and co-chair of US Green Building Council (USGBC). She was the recipient of the 2018 Elinor J. Ferdon Young Woman of Promise. Ms. Buckley is also on the Board Development Committee for Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey.

Girl Representatives to the Board

Elise Choi Elise Choi of Upper Saddle River has been a Girl Scout for 12 years and is a Junior at Northern Highlands Regional High School. At school, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Debate Team, Model United Nations Club, and is secretary of the Northern Highlands Leo Club. Outside of school, she is a competitive dancer at Studio L Dance Company, a member of the Education Committee for the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking, and a research assistant for the Korean American Grassroots Conference in Washington D.C. Ms. Choi’s interests reside within human rights, political science, international relations, and humanities. She hopes to become a diplomat after college and eventually attend law school to become a human rights lawyer. She earned her Girl Scout Silver Award in 2018 and her Girl Scout Gold Award in March of 2021, which educated young students and raised awareness on human trafficking and online grooming. Human trafficking is the human rights issue she is most passionate about, as she will continue to spread awareness and take action regarding this issue. Concurrently, she is working with the Korean American Grassroots Conference to pass a bipartisan bill that addresses another human rights issue, granting U.S. citizenship to international adoptees brought to the U.S. as children. Ms. Choi applied to become a Girl Representative to give back to the Girl Scout community that has supported her leadership and life skills development through her years as a Girl Scout. Christine Hruby Christine Hruby of Flanders has been a Girl Scout for 12 years and is a Junior at Pope John XXIII Regional High School. At school, Ms. Hruby is a member of the Pope John Operation Smile Club, National Math Honor Society, Philosophy Club, President of the Take Action Club, a member of the Science and Math League, Girls Who Code, Pope John Tennis and Golf Club, and is a Student Ambassador. Ms. Hruby is a published research scientist. She is an Altar Server at her church, a nursing home volunteer, and an SAT tutor. She has earned her Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. Ms. Hruby applied for the position of Girl Scout Representative to the board so she can share her 12 years of experience as a Girl Scout, present contemporary ideas, enhance her collaborations and leadership skills, and to share her unique perspective on matters involving economics and sustainability.

Emma Vales Emma Vales of Morris Plains has been a Girl Scout for the past 12 years and is a Junior at . Ms. Vales is the recipient of the Marine Lance Corporal Christopher B. Cosgrove III Memorial Award which is awarded to a student who exemplifies courage, citizenship, honor, and character. She is a Member of St. Lucy’s Angels/Life Witness Club, a server at the Community Food Kitchen, and a SOAR Tutor for fifth graders in Morristown. In school, she is the managing editor of the school newspaper, a dedicated member of Mock Trial, and competes as a member of the Forensics Public Speaking Club. Ms. Vales taught herself how to do calligraphy and it has become one of her favorite things to do. She is very passionate about disability rights and advocates that people should not be judged on their disability but on the true content of their character. She has earned her Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards and is eager to share her Girl Scout and other experiences as a Girl Representative to the Board.
