UK and Ireland . Corby Conference 2019

On a bright and sunny day in February brethren travelled from all over the district to an annual conference for those with leadership responsibilities in UK Congre- gations. On this occasion it was a joy to have our three rectors from Ireland also attending and being a part of the event. The focus for this year was on four main groups: 1. Facilities managers - who have responsibility for the maintenance of buildings and health and safety of all who use them. 2. Youth leaders - supporting a major project this year to manage the 100 plus attendees from the UK and Ireland who will join the 35,000 other youth in Germany for the youth convention. 3. Musicians - enjoyed an opportunity to discuss projects and structures needed for near and longer-term planning. 4. District ministers and rectors were presented with an overview of the ‘ministers development programme’, which will be launched later in the year. The conference was closed with all del- egates learning a new hymn, composed by Priest Jeremy Dawson. It is planned that our Sunday school children will learn the hymn in their local congregations so they can join together to sing in the district services which are scheduled later in the year.
