Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} the Book by Toody Cole Andrew Loomis Szim Erin Yanke and Eric Isaacson DEAD MOON. Es folgten 1966 THE WEEDS, dann THE LOLLIPOP SHOPPE, ZIPPER, KING BEE, THE RATS, WESTERN FRONT, THE RANGE RATS und schließlich 1987 DEAD MOON. Verwandte Links. © by Ox-Fanzine - Ausgabe # und 31. Dead Moon - Dead Moon: The Book (2xLP + 300 Page Hardcover Book) Dead Moon were a DIY band, active for 19 years. Singer and guitarist Fred Cole was playing music since the early 1960’s – beginning his career as “Deep Soul Cole – the white Stevie Wonder”, then joining the psychedelic band the Lollipop Shoppe / The Weeds. In the 70’s and early 80’s Fred and Toody Cole played in various punk, country and hard rock bands. In the late 1980’s, they formed Dead Moon with Andrew Loomis. This band went on to become mythic and legendary. They lived by a DIY code built around superstitions and avoidance of conventional music industry pitfalls. Their story is completely unique amongst the pantheon on rock bands – a group who never sold out, never gave in and built a legacy of art and community piece by piece in a sustainable way almost unheard of. The book is a tribute to their unique aesthetic, unbelievable twisted path of a story, and roll as pioneers of the Portland music scene. The book tell’s the entire Dead Moon saga in the words of the band itself. Just the voices of Fred, Toody and Andrew. It includes a complete illustrated discography of everything Fred, Toody and Andrew have released, song lyrics, and TONS of band photos, flyers, and weird ephemeral stuff. Lots of it has never been seen by the greater public. The package also includes 2 LP’s of the “best of” Dead Moon – lovingly remastered from the original tapes. First edition is ultra deluxe, using great faux leather and cloth. Very sturdy construction. Come’s shrink wrapped. Fred Cole Tribute / Razorcake Podcast #501 w/ Tim Brooks. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 1:00 PM 2:00 PM 13:00 14:00 Google CalendarICS. On Thursday November 9th 2017, we lost one of the shining lights of rock’n’roll. Mr Fred Cole. Fred started out in bands in the early ‘60s, finishing up with Pierced Arrows in the 2010s. Him and his wife are best known for the legendary band Dead Moon. A renegade who exemplified everything about the DIY spirit. Fred built his house from scratch, made his own guitars and pressed his own goddamn records. I haven’t been this affected by the death of someone outside my own family since John Peel died. I drove home after finding out about it with the missus, and we both cried all the way home. If you aren’t familiar: welcome to your new favorite band. Furiously DIY, these folks built their own Ghost town in Clackamas, made their own records on the legendary lathe that cut "", homesteaded deep in the wilds of Canada with just an ax in hand, ran a Portland music store, and raised kids and wrote songs and played gigs all throughout. With Andrew, they formed Dead Moon - the greatest rock band of all time (according to Mississippi Records. millions of Germans and Dutch folks agree) Because Fred Cole passed away last week, the Hollywood Theatre, Mississippi Records, Kate Fix and Jason Summers are offering this free show to the public for a little mass catharsis. Fred is one of the greatest heroes ever to come out of Portland. Come on by and celebrate the life of a true legend. Fred Cole Tribute / Life During Wartime on KBOO. Life During Wartime with DJ Erin Yanke from 10:30 to Midnight we continue to mourn our loss of Fred Cole, and are grateful for all the amazing music and stories he left, and a great example of a life well lived. „Wenn Motorradtypen heulen müssen“ Das Buch über die DIY-Punkband Dead Moon. »It’s okay / We all seen better days / It’s okay / You don’t have to run and hide away / It’s okay / We love you anyway«, singen Fred und Toody Cole von Dead Moon mit rauen Stimmen in ihrem Song »It’s Okay«. Eric Isaacson/Szim/Erin Yanke (Hg.): Dead Moon. Off the Grid. Ventil-Verlag, Mainz 2020, 320 Seiten, 35 Euro.
