Is that really you? Well, yes and no. Yes, in that what you see is recognisable, but no, it is not you in that it is a reflection – not the real you. For better or worse, there is only one of you, and the image in the mirror is reversed, so as anyone who has tried to tie a bow-tie or zip up a dress relying on a mirror will know, co-ordination of action based on a reversed image is tricky. You are no longer working with the real thing but its opposite; a version of reality – in this example, an inversion. It is counter-intuitive. Reality is still there but changed; reality and an impression of reality co-existing. The irony is that only others can see you as you really are, though you may argue with that. Reality is often too close to focus on; we need a little perspective – some context, whether in space (orientation) or time (cognition). Optical illusions work, and can only work, when context is removed and our eye deceives our brain because it is at a loss to signal whether what is visible is real or unreal. Sometimes this causes rapid alternating between the two as eye and brain struggle to agree. News is said to be history in the making – its current tense.

Jackson’s apparent struggles with various physical and mental issues have been widely reported through the years (e.g., Taraborrelli, 2009). The life and death of Michael Jackson is a clear reminder as to the importance of maintaining good physical and mental health. While I feel blessed with the fact that my family and I are in relatively good health, clearly there are many who are not as fortunate; and indeed, a health crisis of some sort can impact anyone at any time.

E-mail corrections or questions to [email protected] The table below lists the first trade edition identification criteria for each of Stephen King's books. The early Doubleday books all say "First Edition" explicitly on the copyright page (CP). There are other identifiers for these books as well. For books that contain strings of numbers to denote the printing, the important consideration is the presence of the numeral 1 in that string, regardless of the format of the numbers. Some possible variations of the printing numbers are: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 All three of these denote a first edition. The numeral 1 will be removed for a second printing. Black House is the exception. First edition copies state "First Edition" on the copyright page and the number sequence will be "2 4 6 8 9 7 5 3". Trim size is given because Book Club editions are often smaller than trade editions. Also, Book Club edition dust jackets (DJ) are occasionally found on first editions to replace lost or damaged jackets. Book Club edition dust jackets are easily identified because they do not have a price marked inside the front cover. Its goal is to ensure that every child, irrespective of background or circumstance, has an equal chance to fulfil their innate potential. Children are one of the most vulnerable groups in society and are often the main victims of violence. Bethlehem University’s mission is to provide the young generation with increased opportunities to learn, act, and live. Every year, Bethlehem University graduates around 750 students, 35 of them are graduated of social work. It is with great pleasure that we present to you this curriculum that focuses on child protection. Hence, we see our contribution in preparing this curriculum a fulfillment of our mission. We hope that through this curriculum we are able to provide local and international academics and child protection actors an important reference and resource for working with children in need of protection. The curriculum is a teaching tool for social work students, and a specialized training material for teachers, social workers, and parents.
