Author, artist and Mississippi native Laurie Parker will be signing copies of her most recent novel, Trespassers Talking (2016). Set in Natchez, the novel weaves a moving story around two unrelated topics: early-onset Alzhei- mer’s and political correctness gone amok. Parker has been self-employed as an artist since 1992. Her career began with her creating a whimsical line of paper and epoxy pins, which she sold at arts/crafts festivals and galleries. That same year, she combined her art skills with her ability to write in metered rhyme. The Florence McLeod Hazard Museum, a local history muse- help you plan your next reunion, group tour or conference. um, is located on the second floor of the home and is comprised of a collec- tion of artifacts and memorabilia of the Blewett and Lee families as well as a Civil War collection. Also on the second floor is a bedroom that has been re- stored and furnished with original Lee family pieces. The Lee Home is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Mississippi Landmark. The Lee Home also serves as an educational and cultural center for the community.
